I couldn't do my own drops because I couldn't see where to put them!
Having a slowly reducing gas bubble in your eye over 6 weeks is kind of obstructive. Then there's the oil bubble which has to be surgically removed after a few more weeks. It was fun trying to see round/over them :-0

The dog kept watch LOL

Yes, I found that was a problem ................. keeping my head back while administering!

A recliner would have been very useful.

Allan

Allan Report 5 Mar 2021 23:12

Thanks, Sylvia.

Fortunately we have a suite with recliners so that made it easier to administer the first drops :-)

Allan ...........

I hate anything to do with eyes, can't bear anyone to touch them, can't touch them myself ..... which is why I have ever tried contact lenses.

So I had my cataract ops 6 weeks apart, and OH refused point-blank to help me with the eye drops.

He told me it was vey easy to it, just do "this ..."

So I had to self-administer.

Fast forward a few years, and OH had to have cataract ops ............

can you guess?

He said there was no way he could put the drops in, and I would have to do it for him. :-0 :-0 :-| :-| :-P

I honestly tried to keep from doing it, but he wasted so many drops by putting them on his cheek instead of in his eyes ................

He did manage finally to do it himself a few times after the second eye was done.

Do hope your eye feels better soon.

Allan

Allan Report 5 Mar 2021 21:00

Thank you all.

OH signed up for the 'In sickness and in health' part of the wedding ceremony but opted out of the eye part, so it's self medication for me and apart from the drops I have prescribed twice as much red so that I can sail through the next few days in a fog of inebriation :-D

Spent a very uncomfortable night last night and this morning. as a companion to the grit, my eyeball is aching.

Still as I only had the actual op at 1000am , not even a full day has passed ;-)

I may even post a thread on my experience as even from the off things went a bit awry. First op/prep scheduled for 0630 am, next for 0645am and then mine at 0700am. I arrived at about 0650am and the other two people were still sat in the waiting room:-S

Once again, my thanks to you all.
