Officials have released a full list of where people can benefit from cold weather payments.

Payments are now being issued to eligible people as costs rise as a result of colder weather, the Express reports.

Payments began shortly before the end of 2020.

Now the Government has updated its list, meaning many more could be entitled to receive a £25 boost.

Our research reveals that people living in 338 different postcode areas can currently benefit.

The cold weather payments are issued when the average temperature in a specific area is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees Celsius or below across seven consecutive days.

Those who are eligible will be able to receive £25 for each seven-day period of cold weather.

The payment scheme runs between November 1 and March 31 in a bid to provide important support to those affected by a cold snap.

The £25 sum is paid directly into a person’s bank account to those who are eligible, and so there is no need to worry about administrative actions.

Furthermore, Universal Credit claimants are not the only individuals who may be able to unlock a payment, and others could receive the help if claiming:

Pension Credit
Income Support
income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Support for Mortgage Interest

The DWP has a postcode checker tool on its website for people to find out if their area is eligible, although the full list is laid out below.

The updated list has been released by the DWP to provide additional information to those who could be affected.

The DWP shared the list with the Express, showing the full list of postcodes where triggers have occurred.



I think at the moment the list is mainly in Scotland but worth checking if you receive any of the eligible payments
