We did the same with our push down bath plug and sink plug Island! The water took ages and ages to drain and left tide marks so we replaced them with cheap universal plugs off ebay.

Don't get me started on those rubbish push down plugs.
We had to replace ours with good old chain attached to the tap.

You're right ZZzzz, designed to fall apart in no time.

It’s my opinion that things these days are designed so they don’t last long, so that manufacturers can make obscene amounts of money.

NOT very much NOT a merry christmas. Had kitchen tap sorted today by plumber job too difficult for me. Modern crap. Old tap just had to undo screw at back of fitting, pull the U shaped tap out and put new washer in place. New tap is like Windows 10 - useless. Shower now gone bust. Er Indoors couldnt get it to turn off, no power light showing. The water supply is somehow bypassing the on/off function inside the power unit. Luckily theres an inline valve so turned water off using that. Plumber coming next Wednesday. Shower is a few years old - installed 1996! lol
