Every news broadcast shows somebody telling how they have been caused huge problems by the pandemic and how they have not had the help they would have liked. Tonight we saw the closure of a coach firm with one of the drivers crying because he had lost his job.

All this is very very sad and I do have sympathy for these poor people but I do wonder if these stories are doing any good or are even doing a great deal of harm.

This is a pandemic, it was not caused by the government, it happened. It happened in every country of the world, that is the nature of a pandemic. I doubt there is anybody who has not been negatively affected by it. We all have a tale to tell. Is it really news to highlight the stories of individuals?

Nobody knows how much longer we must endure this situation and it is very boring but there are not infinite rescources, They are your taxes and you will not like the ones you are going to have to pay when it is all over, we will suffer then and we are suffering now but do we really need to be given the details of the problems of others when we are in no position to help them in any way just to fill in a news programme?

True...over here all the news seems to be how will they keep serving food outside when the weather changes....some are giving away blankets!
Sorry no way I'd get takeout but not sit eating outside in minus 40 :-)

I wonder if people have “switched off “ because of being bombarded with the technical information, rather than practical help.
Alas I don’t know the answer though.
