Those both sound like very good ideas. I think some with younger children here will do something along the lines of an Easter egg hunt in their own gardens...weather permitting.

No knocking on doors here similar to Von. Those who want to dis
Lay pumpkins. Children and parents go on a search as they did with rainbows. Parent award sweets. I think that there might also be a rock trail somewhere.

Here we are having a Halloween trail. The idea is that there isn’t any knocking at doors

but people will decorate houses or gardens or put up a scarecrow. Parents carry

sweets in their own pockets and give to their children. Being organised in cooperation

With local schools.

Seems like a good idea. Not sure what the local youth will do ;-) ;-)

I have no sweets - but, actually, will have to get some.
One of the problems of working in the local school, albeit 20 years ago - the children's parents know I'm a 'safe' person, and let their children knock on my door :-(
I usually buy Haribo - which I can't stand, so the grandchildren reap the reward, if people respect my 'lights off' notification!

So In Ontario they've strongly advised against doing it this year. I've already got the treats ready but had wondered how I would do this as the dog isn't happy with people coming to the door so we were going to put the dog between the door and the sweets. If they could get past the dog they deserved the sweets. :-D
Instead, I'll bag up the sweets and hand them out a few days ahead of time to families I know.
I know it's getting more popular over there these days so what are your plans?
