There was a time after 9/11 that you were not allowed to take knitting needles or sewing needles (especially tapestry ones) on planes here. You didn't even get through security with them, they were confiscated right away! |

Sharron, you could always wear the 'ladies' knuckle duster - a ring (with a suitably sharp decoration - a heart, for example) on each finger :-D |
