Around here it's mostly the middle age and older people that are not wearing masks the young ones seem very clued up but the some of the older men seem to think it's all a big hoax must say I was very pleased to hear that the police can call on the army for help if needs be I've been saying they should be called out since we came out of lock down I think people will take more notice of them then the police |

The only people not wearing masks this morning in our Tesco Metro were a group of youngish men from the building site down the road. all others, young teenagers, around 30-40 year olds and elderly were wearing masks. |

I have just asked a retired senior police officer about the army being called in. He had not seen the news but his reaction was 'What!!' He would be surprised if any police force would call on them. I will not say here what he said about Boris! |

Maybe all those people who criticize the way the government is handling the pandemic would make much better job of it.I bet they would not like to have to. |

I believe that had Van Tam not been shipped off for speaking his mind, we would all have gained from his experience and clear thinking. |

There are times when a degree in maths is more useful than Greek and Latin classics ( aka "Greats" ). |

Nothing bodes well at the moment. I am trying to search my brain, Rollo. I think it was 1986 when the pound dropped dramatically and some friends lost a heap of money due to the exchange rate. |

I wore a big clear facemask today to meet 2 women and they both told me that I have to wear a normal mask underneath it, but when a person has COPD and told by the doctor you only need a clear facemask then I can[t see why I was in the wrong. |

Joan I am like you and cannot wear a face mask. I am asthmatic and cant bear anything to cover my face as i get claustrophobic and start to panic not being able to breathe. When i was in ICU, i had this huge face mask on which i continuously tried to pull off, it was horrendous. I also made sure they did not shut my bedroom door at night and here at home all my doors stay open.Lounge, kitchen and bedroom doors are never shut as i hate being shut in. |

Over here almost all the Uni and college course are online only. The highest number of new cases is in people under 40 many of whom have been partying without masks in big groups. |
