	Does it mean you were at their bedside or just in the house at the time whether you lived there or visiting?

	I have always thought it meant in the same room when the person died .

	I'm with JustGinnie. I thought it meant that the person notifying the registrar was with the deceased at the time of death.

	I've always thought it meant exactly what it said. I was present at the death of my Mother and my Mother in law.
