80 years ago brave young pilots of the Royal Air Force plus those of the Commonwealth and pilots who escaped from Europe defended the United Kingdom against large-scale attacks by Nazi Germany's air force, the Luftwaffe. It has been described as the first major military campaign fought entirely by air forces.

In memory of all those who risked everything to keep us free. Lest we forget.

We watched the Dan Snow and Kate Humble programmes. These young men and womens bravery was just astonishing, it certainly brought it home the debt we owe them, and to their counterparts in Bomber Command. RIP to all those who perished and a humble thank you to those who survived.
