Can anyone reccommend a reliable repeat prescripion delivery service?

Where do you usually get your meds? If it’s from a local chemist have you asked if they deliver? There are various online services but I have never tried them. I think they work best for those who need the same each time. Boots have a delivery service. I think they charge a fee for it. My local Lloyd’s, where I get my meds, also deliver for free but have limited driver time so tend to keep the service for the most vulnerable.

I hope someone with more experience of deliveries can help you.

I get them from LLoyds but they're being awkward and a bit rude. I'd collect but we're both shielding. Given that it was them who phoned me at the start of lockdown to say they 'couldn't have me collecting' they now seem to want to wriggle out of it instead of being upfront and honest. Not impressed

We have previously had our village Lloyd’s deliver and didn’t have a problem. Nowadays OH queues up for both of us.

I phoned them on friday to ask if they would deliver as per during lockdown (being polite and not assuming) Yes they would but not until monday, 'that's fine' I said. They didn't arrive so I waited until today to phone them. They can't deliver until tomorrow as they didn't have stocks in... 'But you told me on friday that it was ready to collect'
Whereupon, another woman took the phone - unannounced - and told me if I wanted them before tomorrow there's a £60 charge!
I now see there is a £60 a year delivery normally but none of them have had the curtesy to mention this, being rude comes easier it seems. We are both shielding and Lloyds want to profit from that?

At our Lloyd’s they don’t fill the prescriptions they collect from the doctors until you go to get them. So it can be quicker to pick up the scrip and take it in yourself.

Names, I order through the p.o.d then the script;s sent electronically to Lloyds sometimes the same day.
We're both shielding and it was the pharmacist at Lloyds who phoned me to say 'we can't have you collecting' in the first place. They even starting putting labels on the bag saying vulnerable should arrange a delivery! If they've changes the rules fair enough but don't withoold meds then tell customers theres a £60 charge.!

Interestingly, after a search online, Lloyds do a free postal delivery service. I've never used a delivery service before but surely it might have been something they could have suggested rather than be rude.

I joined Lloyd’s echo and they have done two lots of repeat prescriptions for me

They don’t advise you though when the repeat is due , you have to go into the website and click on a section to order the repeat

Thanks for that Shirley, I found Echo last night and was going to ask today if anyone here had used them. I'm pretty organised with re-ordering as I've been using the p.o.d for a while. Did you speak to your gp about it first?

mine were usually done through sainsbury pharmacy that Lloyd took over a while ago

i would ask them to reorder when i was doing my weekly shop and collect it the following week

like yourself i was now what when lock down occurred as wasn't going out all all and they wouldn't take the request over the phone or deliver .

they needed you to collect and sainsbury wouldnt allow you in just to go to the pharmacy .you would have to queue with everyone else

my grandaughter told me about lloyds echo as she used it anyway as she works shifts in london and couldn't get to the surgery normally let alone now in lock down so she would get her prescription meds sent to her home address

soo registering with them they ask who your gp is and i think check that the surgery will accept their request

the only drawback i found was i went down with gout four weeks ago and my surgery insisted on sending the prescription to lloyds echo and as they hadnt requested it they didnt send it but also didnt tell me i needed to go into the website to confirm it was a correct prescription so it took over a week to get here .in the meantime i suffered badly with the pain and swelling

it was only me going around in circles trying to find where the meds were and the doctors insisting it had been done did i eventually contact Lloyds echo through their facebook page to find there had been the glitch.

i will change it to another chemist near me when lockdown is finally completely over as i.m still only venturing out a little

We’ve always believed that the post is not delivered everyday. Earlier this week there was a letter in a newspaper where the writer didn’t get post when the postie was on two weeks holiday.

We've used well.co.uk since the start of lockdown. The seem quite efficient. We did register with Pharmacy2U then but they decided that they couldn't take any new customers at that time.
