Wasn't patronising at all Island.

Von, 'we' weren't slow to react. 'We' were frightened by having to wait for the buffoon of a PM to react. 'We' knew a lockdown was needed so isolated and hoped it would come.
Adding two weeks onto a holiday will be just that - 'two more weeks holiday', more time to potentially spread the virus. Threatening a £1000 fine if caught not self isolating isn't going to raise the dead.

'We' are aware of population size etc etc etc.

Anyone else want to patronise me? :-P

Whilst I totally agree that we were slow to react to the Coronavirus I think we have to

be a little bit realistic when comparing different countries.

For example we have a population of 66.65 million(2019)

Some areas have been spared any infection whilst others have a very high death rate.

We also have a huge ethic diversity here and very sadly some of those communities have suffered disproportionately. An on going investigation is trying to find out why.

Anybody coming here will have to add 2 weeks onto their holiday so they can isolate on arrival.

And on that note I'll get my coat and head for the hills ;-)

Thanks Pat. We're angry and embarrassed enough without being reminded of how marvellously some other countries have dealt with this killer pandemic. :-|

No one has been allowed here as tourist since March,. Repatriations had to isolate for 14 days since March. We have had much stricter controls than UK including a curfew and having to send SMS messages to be allowed out that is why we have had few deaths and over the last 3 days a total of 9 new cases. We are coming out of isolation.

Pat, I think there's talk of 14 day self isolation here for in coming passengers and 'maybe' a £1000 fine if they don't. 'Stable door syndrome' :-| Useless PM.
I meant I wouldn't want to go anywhere abroad not just Cyprus but I think it's too late.

Cyprus isn't the only place, Greece also and France is saying 14 days isolation.

The government here say all UK tourists are banned from Cyprus when tourists are allowed from next month.
