OK, last weeks storms in our part of WA, we are still trying to clear up the garden and still waiting for quotes for replacement fencing and repairs to our roof mounted air-conditioner.

At least the house is now hopefully weatherproof, and although the indoor water feature last week of water pouring down the hall wall looked quite attractive I don't want it to become a permanent feature.

The area around us has been busy with contractors erecting temporary fencing, and rubbish skips are as rare as hens' teeth.

Hopefully the next storm may not be so severe

The water feature sounds very attractive, Allan. Could you perhaps to arrange to have one that recycles the water continuously from top to bottom and back again?? :-D

It takes a long time to get things arranged and finished when dealing with insurers and lots of damage.

The insurers have been very good and their local assessor has been to see us. The repair works have been authorised but due to the widespread damage from Perth down to Albany all tradies are extremely busy.

In the overall scale of things we got off pretty lightly.

Hopefully, the remaining repair works will occur will take place in due time :-)

Ah yes - the waterfall down the wall feature.
I had one of those a couple of years ago, when the water tank sprang a leak.
It was initially a mere trickle in the corner, by the front door, but it took so long for the contractors to work out where the water was coming from (3 weeks), it soon spread. :-|

Let's hope everything is firmly nailed down, Allan!

With the winds last week it wouldn't have mattered how well down things were :-(

The winds were from the south-west, which is the normal weather pattern for this time of the year, veering anywhere from north-west to south-west.

Unfortunately the house faces directly west :-(

Apart from the physical damage to the house and garden, because we live so close to the coast, the winds were salt-laden and many bushes and plants have been 'burnt' by the salt.

No doubt they will survive but they look pretty ragged at the moment.
