Need some time to appreciate the ins and outs but I have to say this budget was presented in the most professional and understandable format I have ever witnessed.

Well done to the chancellor :-D :-D

Oh have I missed it then? Are we going to be £s and £s better off? Probably not.

An episode of BBC Radio 4's 'Profile' broadcast on 16th February 2020 gave a glowing report about Rishi Sunak.

Well worth another 'listen' to it on your computer.

I agree with 'supercrutch's opinion about this fellow.

Well the rich always speak well of the rich.

I heard just a litte of it while I was having lunch and it sounded as though he (and obviously his advisers) had come up with something reasonable to cover the period when we may feel the worse effects of the coronavirus.

In my opinion, from the little I heard, he would be wise to hold on the advisers he has used. Others need to keep their mitts off them!

Boris and him share advisors..

Thats how he has come up with all the changes he is making.

The incentives are pretty good as are the SME relief proposals during the virus concerns.

His interaction with Sajid Javid seemed pretty friendly.

His interaction with John McDonnell was amusing and even he laughed at his own expense. Corbyn looked like he had been hit with the misery stick.

It's a decent collaboration, Sue, as long as it has realistic aims and good outcomes.

The fact that Boris wanted to share was the reason why Javid resigned wasn't it. It had DC's footprint all over it and not everyone can live with that and certainly I don't think there was any love lost between Javid and DC.

Nothing for Social Care, though.

The accompanying documents, which were released shortly after Sunak's speech, re-outlined the government's commitment to invest £1bn of additional funding for social care next year, which was announced last year.

'Next Year'? An election promise was for more money for social care- it was, apparently 'sorted'.
Yet Johnson asked for help on Social Care strategies only last week.
I think many 'promises' are for the future - like in 4 years time, when they'll be regurgitated for the next election!
