We used to have Surveyor Students from Trent Polytechnical College in Loughborough stay in the Further Education Centre in our village each year when I was in my later teens :-D

One or two of them I went out with :-D :-D :-D

V went to Loughborough for 3 years then Teacher Training at John Moores for a year

Ann, I think it was because a lot of the older Welsh Teachers years ago were very perhaps bitter about the loss of the language and way of life and approached teaching young people in that way.

Inspirational they should have been not dictatorial!

I think I am creative. I wouldn't say I can draw but I do have an awareness of what looks right, balanced etc. And I used to be able to sing!

Not straight from school **Ann**. Went to teachers training college
And would you believe we were awarded our honorary degrees in 2018. 51 years after we left college :-0 :-0 :-0

Sciences I was useless at! Maths I was ok at.
I liked English, French and German.

I hated WELSH then! :-0 :-D :-D :-D
But we did have a tyrant of a Welsh Teacher. She was the mother of the Welsh singer/ song writer/ actor and political activist DAFYDD IWAN!

It's one of his songs that is Radio Jem's Theme songs - Yma O Hyd :-D :-D :-D

I loved maths and found it easy - I have problems doing art, I am useless at drawing for a start. It's which part of your brain is dominant.

I just didn't like the big schools at all. After growing up in a very small village with just 5 boys and 5 girls (including me) in my class I found it overwhelming!
