Son says you can install software "Mail Track" onto Google Chrome, which will then show if an email has been opened ( says that's for G Mail)

I don't think there is a way of knowing if an email has been read (unless you asked for a receipt) but if it hadn't arrived at the address you sent it to it should bounce back to you. Of course some emails end up in the recipient's junk folder and not everyone thinks to check this before deleting.

Normal emails do not have anyway of being traced to see if they have been opened.

Sorry PatinCyprus I didn’t explain myself very well, what I meant was an outside e mail ie to aol type thing or gmail x.

Go to messages up above and hit Sent Messages when the list drops down. If you see an envelope next to your message it hasn't been opened.

Probably no answer to this but thought I would ask anyway, is there a way of knowing if an email has been opened or if it is inactive please?
