IRELAND v WALES ~ THE ANTHEMS

WALES ~ MAE HEN WLAD FY NHADAU (Match Version)

Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi,
Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri;
Ei gwrol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mad,
Dros ryddid collasant eu gwaed

Gwlad, gwlad,
pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad.
Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau,
O bydded i'r hen iaith barhau.

Gwlad, gwlad,
pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad.
Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau,
O bydded i'r hen iaith barhau.

ANTHEM of THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND ~ A SOLDIER'S SONG

We'll sing a song, a soldier's song,
With cheering rousing chorus,
As round our blazing fires we throng,
The starry heavens o'er us;
Impatient for the coming fight,
And as we wait the morning's light,
Here in the silence of the night,
We'll chant a soldier's song.

Soldiers are we
whose lives are pledged to Ireland;
Some have come
from a land beyond the wave.
Sworn to be free,
No more our ancient sire land
Shall shelter the despot or the slave.
Tonight we man the gap of danger
In Erin's cause, come woe or weal
"Mid cannons" roar and rifles peal,
We'll chant a soldier's song.

ANTHEM of THE IRU ... IRELAND’S CALL (Matchday Version)
Uniting the North & South of Ireland)

Come the day and come the hour
Come the power and the glory
We have come to answer
Our Country's call
From the four proud provinces of Ireland
Ireland, Ireland
Together standing tall
Shoulder to shoulder
We'll answer Ireland's call

Ireland, Ireland
Together standing tall
Shoulder to shoulder
We’ll answer Ireland’s Call
WE’LL ANSWER IRELAND’S CALL!

ALUN-WYN JONES 150th CAP

YET ANOTHER MILESTONE REACHED TONIGHT FOR THE LEGEND THAT IS
ALUN-WYN JONES <3

In his last game, the Wales Captain made history when he won his 149th Cap, making him the most capped International Player EVER! Alun-Wyn beat the record that had been held by former New Zealand All Black Richie McCaw.

TONIGHT, IN THE NATIONS CUP OPENING GAME, ALUN-WYN EXTENDS THAT LEAD TO 150 INTERNATIONAL CAPS- 141 WALES CAPS and 9 BRITISH & IRISH LIONS CAPS .... AND IT WON’T STOP THERE!

There seems to be absolutely not sign of this legend hanging up his togs. I think he could see at least another year at the top of his profession!

WHAT ABOUT BIG AL FOR CAPTAIN OF THE LIONS NEXT YEAR? ;-) :-D:-D

ARE YOU WONDERING HOW THE NEW NATIONS CUP WORKS? :-S
.... Well wonder no more!! :-D

THE AUTUMN NATIONS CUP 2020 IS AN UNIQUE 8 TEAM TOURNAMENT

It will involve the SIX NATIONS (England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland) and also GEORGIA and FIJI.

It will take place over four weekends between 13th November and 6th December instead of the traditional Autumn fixtures.

TWO POOLS ~ 4 COUNTRIES IN EACH POOL
Pool A: England, Ireland, Wales, and Georgia
Pool B: France, Scotland, Italy, and Fiji

Each team will play the other three teams in their respective Pool over three consecutive weekends.

POINTS SYSTEM:
Match Points and Bonus Points:
The following points will be awarded based on the results of each Match (such points to be referred to as ‘Match Points’ to distinguish them from points scored on the field of play):

MATCH WINNING TEAM = 4 MATCH POINTS
MATCH LOSING TEAM = 0 MATCH POINTS*
* If the losing team loses but with a margin of 7 points or less = 1 Bonus Point
* If a team loses but has scored 4 or more tries = 1 Bonus Point
* If both the above criteria is met = 2 Bonus Points
TEAMS WHO DRAW = 2 MATCH POINTS EACH
* If a team draws but has scored 4 or more tries = 1 Bonus Point

TABLE & RANKING POSITIONS:
After all the Nations Cup's Rounds (3) have been played, the ranking positions will be as follows....
The teams will be ranked within their pool by the number of Match Points they have accrued.

If there are 2 or more teams with the same amount of Match Points then a "Points Difference" comes into play.
Points Difference is the difference between the total points scored and the total points conceded on the field of play in all Matches

FINALS WEEKEND:
A week later, on the weekend of December 5th & 6th, the Autumn Nations Cup enters the ‘Finals Weekend’ with each team playing a team from the other Pool.

Each team will play against the team ranked in the SAME POSITION in the OPPOSITE POOL as follows....
1st in Pool A v 1st in Pool B; 2nd in Pool A v 2nd in Pool B and so on.

THIS WILL DETERMINE THE OVERALL FINISHING POSITIONS IN THE 2020 AUTUMN NATIONS CUP
