that's reminded me Pat -one of my aunts had it as a child . She always had difficulty walking

My cousin Val had it but she only had a mild case that slightly weakened one leg - she had to do a lot of walking to build up the muscles again

That was a real worry when we were children as there was still a lot of it about. :-(

I got stung by a bee that had got tangled in my hair while I was playing on the beach when I was about 9.

I could hear buzzing and then my friend shouted that I had a bee in my hair. I panicked and tried to knock it out and it stung me badly on my neck :-0

In Primary school there were 2 kids in my class that had polio and wore callipers

He was stung in his pram when he was 2 weeks old..and Prince was stung on his face when he was 3..on the beach :-0 :-0

We were clear thankfully, but there were a lot of people that had it here. It wasn't a big deal. Just antibiotics.

By the time the second one was born 3 years later they had it under control

I remember going on the bus with my mum and brother to Queensferry Clinic for my TB tester when Dad was in hospital. A bleed wasp stung me as we were getting off the bus and my arm swelled up Like a balloon...I was squawking like hell
