Hasn't Harry a large inheritance from his Mother Diana ?

Kay????

Kay???? Report 10 Jan 2020 22:45

Although only here for a few days I feel for the queen that they didn't bring the baby for the queen ,Charles or William to have -family time for a day or so.,,,it will be sad if he grows up without physical contact of grandad, uncle and cousins or gt granny cuddle.

Perhaps the titles should go and become just Mr &Mrs Windsor......

I know, Lyndi, but like all money it must originate somewhere. :-)

I suppose that I'm splitting hairs, but the old feudal system of paying tithes etc just annoys me. I think that I'm, a closet socialist ;-) :-D :-D

No one, certainly not the British press, know what arrangements might be made, whether the Queen will want them to continue any Royal duties even if that's their intent, whether Meghan will go back to acting etc etc. it is all just speculation until something is sorted. We might as well try and guess the numbers in the lottery, just as much chance of getting it right :-)

Allan Report 10 Jan 2020 22:09

But money for the Duchy of Cornwall does come from the Public via rents etc it is still not 'private' income, just not income paid directly from the Government coffers

Caroline Report 10 Jan 2020 21:52

I've nothing against them but if you're paid taxpayers money then you need to perform...if Charles decides to give them just his money that's up to him...my point is they don't want to be in the firm any more but want to be paid for the royal connections it seems ....

Well, Prince Charles did say the Royal Family should be slimmed down!

When Megan met Harry what a catch for any young women .They had their time together fell in love Engaged Married then had little baby as you do .so why has this happened. Harry is the Grandson of our beloved Queen he new his role on the Family.the publicity comes with the job they live in goldfish bowl .He needs to do his own thing but at what cost .He should have talked to the Family then started a life with his wife & child . go be a Man take his life in his hands only one life whether you are rich or poor do it. the press will forget this story in time . Prince Andrew has gone on the back burner see what happens :-)

I go along with Rose's words.

When Harry and Meghan are together they are most likely to be holding hands or have linked arms, it's nice to see, along with Harry's smile. If he is happy, and she's happy does it matter if Meghan wears the trousers?

I am sure this will be sorted out amicably in the end.

It was nasty Caroline. Personally I wouldn't have RR'd, I'd have left it for all to see.

Oh dear what did Sue say that got RR'd?

Lyndi Report 10 Jan 2020 18:21

:-D :-D :-D :-D Island - you just made me splutter my coffee on my laptop screen.

What I have read on here and the newspaper headlines might just give a clue as to why Harry is totally disenchanted with life in the UK. Like Brexit opinions are poles apart, and like Brexit people seem to think that having an opinion gives them the right to offer vitriolic, abusive and downright rude insults.

Run Harry run ;-)

Island Report 10 Jan 2020 18:04

It does make me laugh that so many women here are slating Meghan for 'wearing the trousers/ changing Harry/ being in charge etc' yet, going by past comments, these same women give the strong impression of having their husbands firmly under the thumb! :-\ :-\ :-\

Could it be that they had a baby so soon after the marriage because of
their ages, she's 38 after all, if you want more than one you do have to consider that!

SylviaInCanada Report 10 Jan 2020 17:30

The National Post is reporting that a polling company (one that I have never heard of before) has conducted a poll showing that 60% of Canadians would accept Harry as GG.

Well, they didn't ask this Canadian!

Problem is that many polls these days are conducted online, and people can vote multiple times.

There is a relatively small but vocal group of Royalists here, but many more who like the Queen and Prince William, and quite like Charles as the ultimate heads of the UK and the Commonwealth simply because a non-political Head of State is preferable to one like Trump. But that doesn't mean that they or the many recent immigrants to Canada would like to go back to the old system of the Queen appointing someone as GG. That was got rid of in 1959 in favour of appointing Canadians (born or naturalized).

Will Harry, ever adapt to the kind of life Meghan wants ? That could be a different story in years to come. The death of Diane, brought William and Harry very close. I am sure William is very saddened by this. Harry may be very saddened by that in time to come.
It does seem Meghan has a real hold over him.

Caroline

Caroline Report 10 Jan 2020 15:04

As I said they can do what they want just don't expect everyone else to pay for it if there's nothing in return.

Rambling

Rambling Report 10 Jan 2020 14:02

What Charles does with his own money is his own affair.

I very much doubt some of the posters on here would like the constant scrutiny of every little detail of their lives ( or gossip with no basis) that Meghan has found, and Harry has always known.
Expectation that it might happen and experiencing it in the way it happens here via the trash media are two different things.

They are not really the same as celebrities.

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Chichester there were people lining the streets who would all have spent a bit of money while they were in town, even if it was just a parking ticket or a cup of coffee. Revenue would have come into the town simply because they were there.

we have the Festival Theatre which attracts an awful lot of very famous faces and we do see them wandering the streets. They don't attract any extraordinary extra income.
