For me, Ann, it was interesting as my Dad was sent to the Pacific after serving elsewhere too. If I recall rightly, he was in the first British Fleet into the South China Sea after the fall of Singapore.

He was already serving when war broke out.

We moved my MIL once. We left her sitting watching TV - it was Princess Anne's wedding.
When we had everything in place in the new house she put her coat on and we moved the TV to the new place.
Easiest move ever for her ;-) ;-)
