M.I.L phoned the other night asking...… i'm mixing a cake, it said... 170 grams, HOW MANY OUNCES OF BUTTER IS THAT? My reply.... I WOULD NOT KNOW I HAVEN'T HAD COOKING LESSONS. ok she said, and rang off.

That song about the pyramids along the Nile was played on a newsreel about the first long distance flight to South Africa. I think it might have been a Comet airliner and I am not even sure it was South Africa.

I think the song is called "You Belong to Me" but I am not sure.

For a long time I called it 'that song that was played when that plane went to that place'.

It is only since the advent of the internet that I have come this far in knowing what the song is called.

Funny thing is, that person I cant stand, is usually the person THEY cant stand.

Believe me, I abridged the conversation!

Over the years we have had

'You know, that woman that wrote that book'

'That bloke that was in that group'

'That couple, that were married to each other, actors, always in films together, you cant stand either of them'

So now I know!

Sitting the other night with certain in-laws, we had a strange conversation.....

Watching tv, they said

'Oh look it's that bloke!'

me. 'Who? Which one?''

'Him, him there, that bloke, you know!'

'No, point him out, which bloke'

'That one, that one there! That bloke you cant stand!'

Peering at the screen.

'What bloke? I cant see anyone I cant stand'

'Yes, you do, he was in that programme.'

'What programme?'

'That programme that was on tv years ago, you couldn't stand him!'

'Tell me what bloke and what programme!'

'Oh honestly, you do know! I'm going to the loo and am going to Google this film and get his name'

A few minutes later they came back.

'Oh, its ok, I looked him up, its not him!'
