Does anyone with arthritis, especially RA, suffer pain in hands, wrists & neck when reading a book? Is there any gadget that would help with this?. |

I have a friend who has RA and she likes to read. However she can't sit and hold a book for long, so she sits at the kitchen table with her book on a cook book stand on the table. She still can't read for long periods because of her neck but she only likes to read whilst having her breakfast anyway so it works for her. |

I adapted a pc monitor bracket for my mother and attached it to her floor standing reading lamp. Worked a treat with books and magazines, not so good with the DM. |

Thank you all for your replies. Will have a look on Amazon for something. I really don't want to give up reading having given up everything else ie knitting, sewing etc. |

This is a very good website - if you type book into the search box, it comes up with a whole list of possibles, ranging from a fiver to two hundred pounds plus! |

If it gets really painful could you try listening to a audio book? |

I've used a wrist brace at times ................ found in drug stores over here, and range for simple elasticated ones to ones with metal supports. |
