freezing cooking apples

I slice,drain really from lemon water and dry pat with kitchen paper then freeze,,,,as if not when you come to use for a pie//crumble they go to mush,,,I don't blanch apples. |

Depends what you want to use them for. If for apple sauce cook, cool and freeze. If you want them for a pie, cut them into slices or quarters, depending on the size of the apple, then blanch them, i.e. cook for a few minutes then cool and freeze. |
