Soo this morning got a standard letter giving me a new operation date of 9th October

No mention at all of my iron level and if I needed treatment before or the results of the blood test I took at the time for other levels like b12

Very frustrating at absolutely no contact since 8th August when they cancelled and the numerous follow up phone calls I made

Just hope they don’t cancel again especially at the last minute :-(

Funnily enough my SiL"s friend had her knee operation cancelled at the last minute similar to yours, Shirley. In her case they said that there weren't enough specialist aftercare nurses available :-0

I need to be active as long as possible so can tick over and not be a problem to my family as I live on my own now

Dear Shirley
So sorry to learn your operation was cancelled. Mine was cancelled 3 times before they finally called me in last May.
I have to say that the knee is wonderful & apart from back ache I have done really well & so will you if you do the exercises regularly. I hope you will have someone at home with you for the first few days as they will be really useful to you.
I wish you good luck & a speedy recovery.

I have a lovely granddaughter who will take me in and collect me later

She has her own flat fairly locally to me and works in banking in London

She is going to stay with me for a week or two to see how I get on

She will be at work during the day but being overnight and evenings can make sure I am set up for each day

Several of the ladies I see at Tuesday coffee morning have had knees done and they all say best thing they had done but you do need to do the exercises

I still have the chair lift so that will help .plus I have a downstairs loo !!!

I only expect to be in for a couple of days and as i have my ipad i can let you all know how it went

just want to get it over and done with now ;-)

Best wishes Shirley, I used to work in a private hospital and it was marvellous to watch the operation and seeing them walk in unaided when they came back for their checkup.
