Fly Report 28 Aug 2019 10:20

My Niece's dog had it when he was 6 month hold and they nearly lost him.

It happens in late summer early autumn :-(

Around harvest time. We have to be careful when the rains start and the grass grows we get lots of ticks who have horrible diseases in them. Priya has a tight fit white collar under her normal collar. It feeds chemicals into her to repel the ticks - lasts 6 months, we renew her current one next month at her annual MOT.

There are several types of mosquitoes out here and it works on all of them - I have an allergy to them and used to have tablets and creams to combat the swellings - about 20 clicks around a bite asap and the itching stops and it doesn't swell up. Much healthier than medication.

Island

Island Report 28 Aug 2019 10:39

Morning gals :-D :-D :-D

Thanks for sharing that Fly. Our dog gets eaten by harvest mites at this time of year and I've seen other dogs in the area with raw front legs where they've itched but not heard of any associated fatalities. Sudocrem is the wonder ointment or it - and socks.
There are loads of dog owners round here so I'll keep my ears pricked.

We sat outside in the rain yesterday. It was fab :-D :-D :-D

You have to laugh, have one next to me at night on my little bedside cabinet, have one next to me now. Have a couple in bags and 1 in my case, there's one in OHs bum bag and I think there's 2 new ones in a draw upstairs.

I usually end up giving at least 1 away each year ;-)
