You have previously given me a lot of information about the family of John & Martha Roper but I cant find much about Daniel Born 1881 who married florry ellender or my own fathers early life . Lawrence served in the Army in the 1st world War and was awarded the Military Medal but I don’t know when he enlisted he was born In 1895 l have been told his war records may have been destroyed can anyone help

What other info are you hoping to find?

You could contact the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment and see if they have an archive or museum where they might be able to give you an idea of approximately when he joined up by using his service number.

When you say "Lawrences' early life", how early do you mean?

Born in 1895, you should be able to find him on the 1901 and 1911 censuses, and he should be on the 1939 Register.

There isn't much alse, apart from marriage, birth of children, and death. Plus Electoral Roll records IF he happened to live in an area where those records are online.
