but as there seems to be a burst of activity ( 2 calls in 24 hours) I thought I'd post.

One mentioning my "broadband service provider" who will be cutting me off in 24/48 hours, one from British Telecom( who is not my sp) saying the same, in a stilted recorded speech. Then urges me "press one to speak to a technicial advisor".

Do not be fooled into pressing anything. Will remind my 'aunt' E who falls for this kind of stuff.

I had the same call a couple of weeks ago, recorded message saying my internet was compromised, sounded like an american accent.

I got the call about cutting off my service 'in 24 hours due to illegal activity' just this morning, same stilted recording..... 'press one to......' They've finally found me! LOL.

We get the exact same calls here as well, and some of these computer voices are very lifelike they reply by "answering" key words....easy to spot though ask something they weren't expecting it screws the computer up lovely...eg if they phone about the SP comment on the current state of your bathroom towels...if it's a human they will be flustered if it's computer they will say something like "That's what I'm phoning for your SP..." etc :-D :-D either way it can brighten up a dull few secs.

Don’t get many scam calls as they are filtered out

Was told by tel preference that some scam calls are filtered through a uk no’s so look to be genuine call

The thing is a call that you aren’t expecting treat with suspicion and check back with your internet provider
