I have found a place that will display some of the many dishcloths I have knitted with a view to selling them.

They last years so are cheap and they will rot on the compost heap so they are green.

Granny knew what she was doing!

I have been experimenting with making scouring pads after reading on FB that somebody knits them from sisal in an attempt to be green

I have made some from jute and was looking for single ply sisal because two-ply is too stiff to knit. The only place I could find it was USA so I ordered three balls.

It came today. Now, we all know how fragile string is don't we?

Three small balls of sisal were each individually shrink-wrapped and then put in another packet which, in it's turn, was inserted in a tube of cardboard that was well wrapped in plenty of bubble wrap, inside a polythene envelope with copious amounts of Sellotape wrapped around it.

Well green eh?
