No Mr M, I was only a month old :-D. Parents bought a telly and invited the neighbours in to watch it on a very small screen :-D |

Heaven knows how much CIIIR will cost no idea they went to such trouble. Great playing I-spy with all the classic cars. Many new back then so London was not as broke as the history books say. Our set was 9in with a thingy on the front. I am told my only interest was with the horses. Same as now. |

I remember lying on the pavement peering in through the open door of the only person on the street who had a TV. I think there were about 6 of us kids all trying the same thing. |

My uncle Fred was a sales exec with GEC so we got a big discount. A year later we had a 14in which, with ITV add on, was running as 2nd string until uhf came in. |

The only neighbours with a telly invited the local children in to watch the coronation. I was sitting on the floor at the front, eyes glued like everyone else. Some wished they had never gone to watch at all which I never found out until I was a teenager. |

I think my parents must have got their tv for the Coronation, but I was too young to have been interested. As I grew up I loved 77 Sunset Strip. There were so many Cowboy serials too that I loved because of the horses! Rawhide, Sugarfoot, The Lone Ranger, Waggon Train, the Ponderosa. :-) |
