I looked in the mirror
and staring back at me
was a wrinkled old lady
How can that be
I am young
I can party all night
in my dreams
when I am tucked up so tight.
So who is that lady
as mirrors don´t lie
where did the years go
I ask with a sigh.
where did my youth go
did I waste it away
and now I have wisdom
my body can´t play
I look at the faces
Of people I knew
and wonder if life
is just passing through
so who is that stranger
that stares at me back
she is part of my future
to keep me on track
She is all of my past
and most of today
she says life is worth living
do not waste it away

Ive no doubt your Mother was beautiful ;-)

I often think mother haunts me when a glance in the mirror :-D
