alas alas my geny friends
I think I´m going mad
I have searched all the archives
and my friends now say I´m sad

BUT I know there is somewhere
a paper to be found
it will tie up all the loose roots
and my family can be bound

And your tree will start anew.

I've searched and searched for Harriet
and so have some of you
but not a page to tarry yet
on which her name is true.

I think she is the 'lost one'
whose shoe caught in her hems
and never was she seen again
she floated with the Thames.

But still we search in hope one day
to find our missing folk
we pay our subs and wreck our eyes
it really is no joke.

And in the end there's nought to say,
when asked their final 'bed'.
There's only one thing that's for sure,
which is to say "they're dead!"

I will keep on searching
looking for my tree
Rose I see you rambling

I am not sure if my efforts
should ever bear my name
