Has anyone renewed a standard long term membership lately? I've just had an email from Genes saying I need to give them a new card number as the one they have has expired but they are quoting £17.96p for the year whereas it was £8.96p last year. Seems like a bit of a jump to me. |

Thanks very much to both of you. I think I will get in touch with them and see what they say. My email is exactly the same as yours Bob, except that the amount says £17.96 which I've never paid before. |

Paid mine on April 19th, it was £8.96 for year. You were a member before me, Kath, so don’t know why genes would quote you a higher price. Have you contacted them about it? |

I did contact support and they said it was because I was trying to renew by credit card (I don't have one!) but the email I got from them said it was probably because my card number had changed. As it happens I do have it on auto renew because I used to pay by debit card but for some reason I didn't get the usual email giving a few weeks notice before renewal. Anyway by the time they did email saying my card may need updating I was out of membership. |

Yes, I noticed that too Sylvia - but only after they had sent the email asking for the higher amount, probably because I haven't been on the site so much just lately as I have recently had a hip replacement so had other things to do (hospital appointments and physio etc.) |
