Well........ :-D

More snow tomorrow......

SylviaInCanada Report 7 Mar 2019 18:02

We had more snow yesterday, arrived in time for the evening rush hour, stopped for a while, then started again early this morning.

We only got about 1.5 cm at the house, a lot of rain/sleet/wet snow, but that's all that settled on the grass. Other areas within 10 miles got more, and apparently this morning's rush hour was h**l just south of the Fraser River and the bridges crossing to this side.

Morning classes cancelled at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, which is at the top of a steep mountain/big hill, buses couldn't make it to the top.

I think that is one reason whey there have been suggestions in the last couple of years to build a Gondola system from the base to the centre of the uni, a la those seen in ski resorts. :-D

You've had it worse than us this week Sylvia which is unusual.

Still got the ice everywhere from weeks ago roads down to maybe half the width because the ice just hasn't gone.

Someone say Spring??......

the last few weeks have been unusual for us!!

The experts are saying there should be a warming change around March 14

There are still a lot of patches of frozen snow lingering, mainly on grass facing north, but the roads and everywhere except for those patches have been clear of the original fall for at least 2 weeks. It did take a longer time than usual for most of that snow to disappear.

I'd hate to be in your place, with roads only half width ............. and I guess Margaret might still be having problems at intersections, seeing round the corner.

Daughter and grandson will be here week after next, hoping for a bit of warmer weather as a change from their winter (Maritimes) .... which is why I'm looking at that possible change on March 14 with some hope!!

Roads are an issue as I think the plows were told to not damage the curbs like they usually do so they took it to the extreme!!

I'm still toodling around in my little go-cart trying to see over the snowbanks. ( Actually it's a Toyota Tercel but pretty low) I'm starting to get a stiff neck from straining to see over the snowbanks.
Like Caroline's our streets are much narrower than they're supposed to be, some right turn lanes have been completely obliterated.
Hurry up spring!!!

Some areas of Metro got 20-25 cm yesterday morning (hence SFU closing!), then they got another 20-25 cm of wet snow overnight :-0

Other areas got anywhere from 1-10 cm ................. we didn't get anything in our small part.

SFU got some snow, but didn't close this morning.

This is getting ridiculous! And I don't mean just here, but all across the country!!

They're forecasting another 10 cms of snow for us on Sunday. I'm praying that they're wrong. I should be seeing my snowdrops by now but they're still under 3 feet of snow!
