Allan wondered if he should call himself John Coffey, as he had brought the toad back to life, and we obviously had healing powers for the beetles and poor old Toto.

But that would be the Green Mile and not the Yellow Brick Road, so onwards.....

Onwards they trudged and got nearer and nearer to the Emerald City, where they hoped to meet the Wizard....

"Allan singing along with the two beetles as he had was hardly anything for a quiet life now is it?" thought OH.

So OH did tread on the beetles and for good measure kicked Toto.

Well what was Allan to do now.....

Beatles - an infestation

Allan

Allan Report 3 Mar 2019 22:35

They nearly trod on a couple of beetles who could just be faintly heard singing:

Baby don't leave me waiting here
Lead me to your door oh, yeah.

The long and winding road
That leads to your door
Will never disappear
I've seen that road before
It always leads me here
Lead me to you door

The wild and windy night
That the rain washed away
Has left a pool of tears
Crying for the day
Why leave me standing here
Let me know the way

Many times I've been alone
And many times I've cried
Any way you'll never know
The many ways I've tried

But still baby they lead me back
To the long winding road
You left me standing here
Such long, long, long, long, time ago
Don't leave me waiting here
(Don't leave me waiting here)
Lead me to your door

But still they lead me back
To the long winding road
You left me standing here
A long long time ago
So, don't leave me waiting here
Lead me, lead me to your door
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

'Nonsense, don't you know that we are all friends of Dorothy, Toto, and the other motley crew, they will not let us down' said Allan. 'We will get to the Emerald City, and that doddery old bloke behind the screen will get us home.'

OH was not convinced, but anything for a quiet life!

And with a hop, skip and jump, they went along a long and winding road.....

Oh no. Thought Allan’s OH. A tinge of green brings back some unhappy memories.

Allan breathed life back into the toad, taking full care not to kiss it, should it turn into a handsome prince. 'Too much competition!' thought Allan.

The toad hopped along merrily, and Allan and OH followed it.

In the distance there was a distinct tinge of green in the sky....

Allan

Allan Report 2 Mar 2019 22:40

Allan decided to follow the yellow sick toad

Unfortunately, it had just croaked.

(So now we've reached the end of the toad ;-))

Not if it was a Butler one, as everyone knows Butlers can be useful in many ways :-)

But what use food if Allan wasn't having fun?

What to do for fun when one doesn't have a sparkling mankini.......

Is lugging the kitchen sink around holing allan back?

Allan

Allan Report 1 Mar 2019 12:00

Was that a hot tapas, or a cold tapas? It really didn't matter as Allan had found the kitchen sink

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 1 Mar 2019 11:52

A scrap of this and a scrap of that. You could cal it Tapas ;-)

Allan

Allan Report 27 Feb 2019 22:34

Allan was beginning to feel peckish and wondered if there were any munchkins lurking in the Wicked Witch of the West's, sorry, his wife's seemingly bottomless bag.

OK, so the bag wasn't REALLY bottomless as otherwise all the contents would have fallen out by now, but you know what I mean.

nameslessone Report 27 Feb 2019 20:54

But the blisters would certainly stop the skipping so...

Caroline

Caroline Report 27 Feb 2019 01:06

Allan had been wearing his ruby shoes for far too long now, but nothing would stop him skipping down that road.....not even flying monkeys..

Allan Report 26 Feb 2019 21:09

Pausing only long enough to gather a curios trio of travelling companions comprising a thin man in a silver suit, a person who looked as though he'd been dragged through a hedge backwards, and an overgrown ginger cat, they at last set off.

They were followed by a small, foul smelling, dog.

They were heading for the land of Oz

Allan doesn't need to follow the yellow sick toad cos' he's taking the Costa Brava 'plane Y Viva Espana
If you'd like to chat a matador, in some cool cabana
And meet senoritas by the score, Espana por favor

Allan

Allan Report 24 Feb 2019 21:02

Allan looked down at his ruby trainers and had an urge to click his heels together twice.

Also, for some reason he thought that they would have to follow a yellow sick toad.

At least it would make an empathetic travelling companion for his wife

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 24 Feb 2019 10:28

Not to Pamplona, at least not whilst wearing those Ruby Red trainers - unless Allan can run VERY fast.

OH was holding her hand out for some change now that they had reached the conveniences.

'How much do you need?' asked Allan.

OH mumbled something, while holding her tummy.

'Oh that's not bad' thought Allan. 'That's equal to Half a Sixpence'

OH rushed away.

A Spanish gentleman enquired as to OH rapid exit.

'She has gone to talk to the White Telephone' said Allan tactfully. 'She is Singing the Blues. Flash, Bang, Wallop? It's All Happening? Soon she will need Water, Water.'

The Spanish gentleman looked bemused and walked away.

When OH had composed herself, they would be on their way to who knows where...
