Patting a whatnow????

Allan

Allan Report 6 Apr 2019 21:33

All they had to do now was find a zoo with a Gonian so that Allan could spend some quality time patting it

But there is the Patagonian Trail.....

'Why not', thought Allan,' we have been everywhere else...…………..

Onwards and upwards.

:-D :-D

All this talk of music from different decades was too much for his travel-weary brain. Poor Allan needed a break.....a holiday even....but where to go.......then he thought he heard his OH say "Allan how about Chilli?" feeling a tad peckish he said yes please....next thing he knew he was in Chile..."Not many coconuts here" thought Allan sulking...

Allan

Allan Report 6 Apr 2019 12:31

Allan was warped enough without having the time to develop his technique.

The hokey cokey was as far as he had reached.

...……….
It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
………….

Allan

Allan Report 6 Apr 2019 09:13

That cod was nearer than he thought.

Allan had been fishing for compliments, but at least they had tonight's tea.

He wondered if the monkey liked fish.

It was a bit of a puzzle, just like their precise, or even unprecise, geographical location.

They'd sambaed through Rio de Janeiro, dropped anchor in Grimsby and been somewhere where coconuts grow. This last WAS a mystery as, usually, Allan bought his from the local supermarket back in dear old Australind.

The journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step, but in which direction?

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 6 Apr 2019 08:18

Still we could catch the Morningtown Ride, then Turn, Turn, Turn and we would be on The Island of Dreams.

Allan began to feel dizzy, with the heat, and fainted.

He began to focus again when something wet was touching his forehead.....

Allan

Allan Report 5 Apr 2019 22:40

And said, 'The Carnival is over.'

Allan would have to seek 'er again

(that should have people putting on their thinking caps :-D)

Allan sighed, and she had such a lovely bunch of coconuts.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 4 Apr 2019 13:41

Allan was distracted by exotic plumage flashing by. 'Road runner?' thought Allan , but then caught sight of a rather lovely looking lady wearing a flame red costume with the plumage attached.

'Carnival?' she purred at Allan. Allan gulped.

OH poked him in the ribs...…………...

Allan

Allan Report 4 Apr 2019 01:57

For one fleeting moment Allan thought that he was back in Grimsby.

Then he realised that the large group staring up at the statue weren't singing 'Nearer my cod to thee'

If he ever got home he vowed to have his hearing checked as well as his sight

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 3 Apr 2019 18:50

'Oh to be Flying Down to Rio' thought OH.

Quicker than you can say Soft Shoe Shuffle, Allan and OH were looking up at a tall statue on top of a mountain. Arms outstretched it gave them hope they would be homeward bound. After all they were nearer than they were before.....

Allan

Allan Report 2 Apr 2019 21:58

If only the hat that Allan wore could describe the places that it had been, and the sights that it had seen, it would certainly be a case of topi hat and tales.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 2 Apr 2019 13:27

Allan recalled the rhyme of Robinson Crusoe washing his socks, but that is another tale, and far too off the wall!

Allan changed into a pair of combinations, complete with back flap, being fully covered would fend off sunburn. Also the topi, being rinsed out, and natty tea towel attached, Allan would be invincible.

OH stared, and a little smile twiched around her lips. Oh to say what she was thinking......

Allan

Allan Report 31 Mar 2019 22:04

He thought that he'd better do something about his underwear as well.

There was no doubt that the sand was extremely intrusive; his paper was full of it, as were his wiches

Wich is, of course, a very old northern term for a sock. The etymology of this word is derived from that question which dates back to when socks were first worn; which foot does this one go on?

Caroline

Caroline Report 31 Mar 2019 13:11

Into the sunset and sunrise......

Problem was melted chocolate on fingers gets sticky.....this means sand sticks to them...so no matter how far they walked they always were surrounded in sand....and of course Allan was getting sand in his socks.....nothing more annoying than sand in your socks...well okay the RRer is more annoying but that's another story.....so Allan decided to sit on a nearby rock to take his socks off.........

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 31 Mar 2019 10:42

What a useful thing to have in the desert. You could drink the melted chocolate and keep the water for later.

So off they went - up and down dune......

Allan

Allan Report 30 Mar 2019 20:58

He didn't eat them all however.

This was not because he was polite and not greedy, although those descriptions were extremely apt, but because if the group was hunted by a pack of dogs, or wild pigs, he wanted something to put them off the scent.

The mismatched party went forth. If they'd gone third they would have won a chocolate teapot

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 30 Mar 2019 19:53

..... they,re a bit like marmite, love them or hate them.

So Allan started on them hoping the monkey hated the smell.

But would she listen to him?
She had enough sense to steer clear of anything containing liquorice, - whirling or otherwise. One never knew when it might have a drastic effect, but those other old fashioned favourites were another matter and conjured up such happy memories.

No, Alan might be up for a losing battle here.
Was that a sherbert fountain he was trying to hide? and surely there were aniseed balls. too.
Now the latter might have another use..............
