	I was 32 not my dad just realised it's ambiguously written - he was 5 weeks from his 65th birthday and retirement.

	I think you always do miss them. They say time heals, but I think it only helps you come to terms with it. :-(

	So sad Jem, I lost my dad aged 32 and thought it much too soon. Still miss him. 18 is when I joined the WRAF.

	That's what my daughter scored aged 10. Average is 100. I scored 147 my OH 157.

	Yes, Pat, I just googled it. :-) It's a pity we don't ask about such things when we have the chance. I was only 18 when he was killed, and you don't think much of family history at that age, sadly :-(

	For his records you have to apply to MOD. Anyone who served after 1920 files are still kept under 100 year rule. https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records It costs £30 for other than wife/husband who can send for them free. Needs his death cert. It says you need his service number but his DOB will do.

	Did you see on the previous page he could have been in the desert. The RAF were in North Africa.

	What coloured signals? He couldn't do anything with red/green such as lights in a cockpit and electrical wires then were red, green and black.

	He just joined no rank showing and his uniform isn't worn in :-D, good photo. I didn't have a check for colour blindness only certain trades were checked. You had to sit an IQ test though and that could limit what you could do.
