So, this is Christmas! Not a happy time for turkeys.

The earliest turkey dinner or, should I say, the remains were found under a road in the lovely small city of Exeter, in glorious Devon.

Archaeologists confirm that bones found were of a 16th century bird. William Strickland, an MP, is credited with introducing 6 turkeys in 1524 after buying them from native Americans & bringing them across the Atlantic. :-D
