Perhaps it was very very short notice and they didn't have time to find one :-0

I heard that lunchtime too Belle. On Takes Two they said they would have 3 judges this week.

I wonder why they did not have a Celebrity Judge (obviously one that knows what they are talking about) this week.

I too am not surprised Charlotte was booted off. Although I am sorry that Old Snakehips Brendan is gone. It must be the first time he has gone before Anton, that other old Stager! He and Ruth were good!

I am delighted that Susan Calman is doing so well. I like her from 8 out of 10 Cats and other quiz shows, and she seems so pleased to be dancing with Kevin, although he is not one of my favourites. She is so full of joy, it is a pleasure to watch her.

Simon next I think................although Brian is booked for Pantomime so I don't know quite how he is going to fit it all in. Dodgy eyeliner on him this week! :-D :-D

Pleased us 'experts' are getting more into it now...........it has been a slow start, but the cream will rise to the top.

I agree that Debbie was marked harshly, just hope that she is thick skinned enough to take such critical comments.
Judge Shirley has said that she will judge the "good dancers" dtrictly, and she and the others do seem to be keeping to that. Just hope that thr good competitors don't find it too demoralising, and realise that it is a sort of back-handed compliment.

I too am not sorry to see Charlotte leave, watching her could be an uncomfortable experience, waiting for her to make the next mistake. I reckon that secretly she is probably quite relieved to go.

Unless Simon raises his game big time, or other dancers muck it up, he should be in the dance-off next week. He tries his best, and seems to work really hard, he just isn't "made to dance"

Hats off to Ruth and Anton, they were entertaining this week and Ruth looked both confident and compedent. Great to see Anton looking so delighted.

Not sorry to see Charlotte go but still think Simon should have been in the dance off

I don't think Debbie was judged fairly either. She is a real trouper, I think all the judges were quite harsh this week.

Oh please don't let Joe go. I still remember him from The Crow Road when he was a little lad.

I cant remember who it was, but the blonde dancer in the pink and black dress, what a wonderful outfit. I could see myself in that!!

:-D :-D :-D

Well Ruth was a surprise this week! I loved her dress and that determined focus on her face! I'm still loving Aston. He doesn't have a tiny partner but he can really handle those lifts!

I didn't think Debbie's marks reflected her performance. The comments were fair, but with such fantastic posture, arms, suppleness and light footwork I thought she deserved better marks.

This year my big surprise is Susan Calman. (for some reason, I keep thinking that her name is Pat, no idea why, but just in case I start talking about Pat or Patricia in future weeks, you will know who I mean.)

Anyway, Susan, has thrown herself into dancing bigtime, has made improvements, seems to be enjoying herself and her enjoyment and delight is catching.

During the group dance in the launch programme I was very impressed by Debbie McGee, so not a surprise when she was so good in the contest proper. However, I noticed that one of the Blonde "girls" wasn't very good, as the faces, for the most part, were new to me, I'm not positive which one it was, but don't think that it was a very, very slim one (i.e. Charlotte or Mollie) had thought that it might be Gemma, (rather than Ruth), if it was Gemma, (that looked uncertain uncordinated, and awkard), then she has surprised me hughly.

Have still got the recording, so might check it out sometime.

I wasn't really watching out for Aston or Alexandra at the time, too much going on, so would only have noticed them if they were hopeless.

Watched all the progs so far. Didn't think that Chizzy should have gone two weeks ago. I wondered if they had done that dances the other way around, (i.e. their week one dance in week two), would the judges voted the other way.
Chizzy was better in week one than week two, whereas Brian was terrible in week one and made a slight improvement in week two. (ttthis is both my opinion and is reflected in the judges score).

Richard Coles was on my (secret) list of people I wanted in this years Strictly, (together with Louise Hazel, Dion Dublin, Charles Hanson, Lucy ---- ( who presents historical programmes), Stacy Soloman (but IO think that she may be pregnant), and a few more.
As the Rev. Rich. was the only one on my list that actually got to dance this year, I really hoped that he would give a good account of himself.. No such luck! He tried his best, but was just not good enough. However, I thought that he made improvements in the Dance-off, where as Simon seemed to make more mistakes. So I though that Richard might have got the vote of one of the judges.

I felt a little sorry fro Joe, previous weeks the judges have tended to concentrate on the positive aspects of his dancing, hardly memtioning his tendency to lean forward or his occassional pigeon toes. This week thaey did the opposite, very little praise and a lot of his faults bought up. Must have been a bit of a shock. Do agree though, that he wasn't as good as last week.

Simon and Charlotte both look uncomfortable dancing, so I am hoping that one of them is put out of their misery and voted off this week. (yes, I know that it has already actually happened, but I don't try to find out the result till the result show).

So will be watching this evening with fingers crossed.

Well last night was quite good - i think Ruth might be getting better.

Poor old Joe got a pasting but it wasn't his dance - hope they keep him safe.

Charlotte really is a wet blanket - poor old Brendan

I loved the Paso with Gemma - it was one of the better ones and AJ threw Molly about all over the place.

Poor old Simon tries but think he might be the next one.

I dont know Sharon Osbourne well enough to comment - I am sure its an actress her voice reminds me of.

You know..............I might have cracked it...........well Beloved cracked it.............we were trying to remember who Shirley Ballas sounded like. It was driving me doolally!

Well I was watching again tonight, tearing my hair out, and Beloved quite innocently said......................doesn't she sound like............Sharon Osborne?

And you know....................she does!!!!

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 14 Oct 2017 16:23

Read somewhere there has been rumblings amongst the dancers, cos Brian's brother is the floor manager on the show!

They seem to fall into three groups this year.

The very good ones................the appalling ones................and the not so good but popular ones.

I hope the good ones are not sacrificed to a popular no-hoper!!
