OMG, Sue. Does anyone think they're in danger of waking Russia by taking ex-Iron Curtain countries on? I can hardly bring myself to think about the consequences.

I think they'd be wise to tread warily.

Don't worry I won't lose sleep over it.

Why would we wish to continue to be a member of a continually squabbling group? My Dad's bigger than your Dad.......

The UK elections cannot be hacked cos they don't use computers our elections are hand made productions. Fraud related to postal voting has been sorted.

I cannot see that changing can you?

Blur is a bit like Madness but I think the group's songs have some good intros.

Caroline

Caroline Report 13 Jun 2017 18:54

Thought not Rollo, if you can't explain it or apologise don't try and insult people.

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 13 Jun 2017 18:44

Blur is OK but with such songs such as "Park Life" they sound like a tribute band to "Madness". In any case I am getting on a bit for boy bands.

That said last Thursday evening in an old trad pub full of people from 14 to a century we were asked to belt out "Our House" no less than three times for the crinklies. Some were even crying. Someone nicked my bowler and then had the nerve to ask me to sign it. He was 14 so I did.

Most of the Mps and their retinues spend too much time watching box sets of "the West Wing" and "House of Cards". They should get out more.

Well listening to the speeches today,,,,,Corbyn seems to have hid his venom towards Mrs May,but snakes have a habit of striking when least expected,

The Speaker seemed to bask in all the adoration., :-D.

N I speaker gave a good as a wink to a nod,,,,,,which direction not too sure on that.as he didnt give eye to eye contact.

everyone else just grunted and nodded,,,,,,,,including our local MP who lives just a few roads a way,,,maybe he'll get eggs on his windows for sitting there like a lame duck wasting his time . ;-) :-D :-D :-D.

In My Opinion....!

As some people on here think I don't have one.....!

1. May thought she would get the UKIP vote. In the event two thirds went to labour she only picked up one third. Rather odd really because labour was (supposedly) anti exiting the EU.

2. No evidence that the young vote caused the hung parliament, nor the loss of popular oldie vote either as they aren't enough of the latter with sufficient assets to be worried about loosing them to pay for their care in old age, as most simply rely on the state.

3. I don't like May but nevertheless on a matter of principle I have only ever voted conservative in every single local and general election since the age of majority was lowered from 21 to 18.

4. Corbyn is a prat, always was, and always will be (prat = incompetent / idiot) His ideas to change the world by spend spend spend spend spend is cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo land

5. Every time labour have been in power my savings, pension and general wealth have taken a nose dive. I blame Bliar and especially Brown for the £250,000 reduction in my pension fund and won't even mention the effect on our savings.

6. Corbyn is almost 60 seats short of a majority so in my opinion has no chance of forming a government.

7. Europe thinks we are idiots for voting to leave. They are correct.

8. Immigration from Europe is the least of our worries. The biggest drain on our resources and our security is immigration from the Middle East and Indian continent.

9. Trident, nuclear power and HS2 are a good for the economy as will will create tens of thousands of multi skilled jobs.

10. Rollo, bless him, has been there, worn the T shirt, etc..

In My Opinion.....!

Caroline

Caroline Report 13 Jun 2017 17:59

LOL so any answers Rollo?

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 13 Jun 2017 17:48

Once upon a time big and little men and women calling themselves kings and Queens chancellors and fuhrers ran Europe solely in the interests of rich landowners financiers and industrialists. They could not agree among themselves how to divide up their ill gotten gains. the result was over a thousand years of warfare paid for by the little people who lost their houses, farms, businesses and paid in blood. Eventually in 1956 six countries said enough is enough and got together and created the European Iron and Steel community. those six are now the 28 nations of the EU. Within the EU fear of war, famine and abuse of law is no more.
(dark clouds, sombre music)
In one important European country neither the rich nor the followers of Trotsky and Lenin have accepted that power and money should be controlled by ordinary people for mutual benefit. By dint of unending lies these two hostile camps won a vote in favor of a return to the bad old ways.
(small patch of blue sky. VIVALDI "Spring")
But they have been rumbled.
Now we are in a fine old mess. Both the shades
of Brian Boru and Laurel and Hardy have been summoned to sort it out.
Let us pray, wave our rattle scream or whatever comes naturally at such times.

Caroline Report 13 Jun 2017 16:20

Barbra as I said before I hope they all work together and make the best of what many will justifiably see as a bad situation, and get the best they can for the UK future.

Once upon a time there were some big bad men and woman called the EU. They kept asking for more and more until the little people said "enough". They threw the BREXIT at the EU but they huff and puff and before you knew it everyone had a big headache trying to work out what might happen and what might not. Then the wise one said "enough" and he told them all a story and the whole of the EU and the UK fell asleep and could only be woken up by a pure one....which never happen so hard luck.

Eyes glazed yet Kay???

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 13 Jun 2017 15:49

I quite like Blur. :-D

Once again, I may be wrong but I would not be at all surprised if we get no Brexit. I think that once conditions are ironed out, MPs will put to the public that we are going to lose too much to Brexit.

C, u r nt alone, Rollo, in bin unable 2 spell proply.

And the atheists Dermot, to whom or what should they pray? :-)

That 10 DUP MPs will not be holding the Govt over a barrel sooner or later?
That the UK government can then be seen as "neutral" when it comes to getting the power sharing agreement in NI back on track?

Does anyone really believe that this can be anything but a very temporary answer while Brexit is organised ( sic)?

What I think most likely to happen is that T May will be forced into a softer Brexit, ( and probably a move away from austerity) and the very things that most of the leave voters thought they would get on leaving the EU, will be watered down till the end result pleases nobody much.

Caroline

Caroline Report 13 Jun 2017 15:33

So whilst we're on here Rollo do I get answers?
