Indeed, Ken.
I would have quoted your post but that isn't possible, so:

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/dup-threat-to-walk-out-from-talks-with-tories-ghdsqhfp0

The Northern Irish party, which has ten MPs, ramped up pressure on the prime minister by saying that talks over a deal to prop up her administration were not proceeding “as expected” and cautioning that their support “cannot be taken for granted”.

To get back on topic, it seems that the DUP are not the pushover that the Tories expected. There's even talk that an arrangement with the Lib Dems might be possible.

No I do not, never have.

I know where Rollo works it's at genes, that's why he gets away with so many insults and bad taste comments.

Yup! Mixing quotes - tut tut!

Maybe Tolkien used Nietzsche's quotation from 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra' in Lord of the rings - but out of context - not good :-|

Caroline

Caroline Report 19 Jun 2017 13:08

Am I missing what a quote from Lord of the rings has to do with the election??

How doth the biter bit wail in its lair. Come away my brethren nothing to see.

Why does it cry
Caught in her Web
Soon you'll be... Eaten!"

Comments galore about Yorkshire but no explanation about the offensive comments?

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 19 Jun 2017 12:11

Well Sue in Yorkshire that cuts both ways.

I myself think that Yorkshire has a lot going for it starting with Alan Bennett and going on to close rellies in Sheffield and the view from Wharncliffe Crags.

LOTSW is one of the funniest comedies ever only equalled on TV by Fawlty Towers and Only Fools n Horses.

If the 2017 voting figures are any guide T May and her benighted party are not very popular in at least two of the three ridings. "Powerhouse of the North" Tory slogan does not quite gel with the miserable Leeds to Manchester railway and bumpy refurbished trains.

IMHO Dermot your comments are as welcomed as any.

Dermot

Dermot Report 19 Jun 2017 12:02

I am well acquainted with the pervasive pertinacity of nonsense.

Amidst the tsunami of verbal diarrhoea & childish innuendo I have had to endure on reading just a handful of meaningless meandering threads, I am becoming as mad as a box of croaking frogs.

But, of course, being an Amadán, my bald head is also badly affected by our unexpected heat wave. Anyway, my opinions aren't worth a Boddle, according to some.

PS: A special ‘hello’ to RolloTheRed.

Caroline,
It's funny how it's only the men that are deleting..... :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 19 Jun 2017 11:21

Seems to be catching on deleting whole comments numerous times within a thread.

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 19 Jun 2017 07:21

Long considered reply, thread vanishes. :-S

Well, blow me down!

Just checking on here while waiting for coffee to perc and now it looks as though Dermot has started to delete his posts too.

Dermot, I replied to one of yours at 14:16 yesterday and your original post about TM has disappeared (but not reported). It wasn't a reportable type of comment at all.

I always try to read yesterday's posts in order to catch up or as a reminder but when one finds items missing it does mean that isolated comments make no sense.

So, here I am asking.people to have the strength of their convictions. If you comment, read through before actually posting that comment because that is the time to delete - not when others have replied thereby interrupting the flow.

Go on, you know it makes sense!
