Robert totally agree let everyone vote whether they want Scotland to stay part of the union or not, and again the majority wins....the problem being IF it said they should stay would Scotland then just say it's not fair there were more votes cast in England as there are more voters ? |

I didn't say it was Rollo, I said some were saying if the vote went for exit then it was all doom and gloom, just like you're saying now....we've discussed this before on previous threads maybe it will maybe it won't we can't tell what tomorrow will bring....but so far it's been okay. Obviously some may have lost out so far as Von seems to have done, but others may not. |

Markets don't do economics they do time sensitive trades often on margin. |

The French presidential election is in two rounds with the top two facing off in the second round. The favorite, Fillon, has fallen away dogged by financial scandals. It is said ( and not denied) that le Canard Enchaînée was given the info by the Sarkozy camp. Just recently it has been revealed that Fillon has also enjoyed an undeclared clothes allowance of € 10 000 pa. That has been the final nail for many who will now vote for le Pen. Ironic as le Pen is facing embezzlement charges re € 300 000 from the EU. She has been stripped of immunity by French courts. |

I didn't need to check my facts I was 99.9% sure I was right about the wages not being better or even equal...but hey if people in Scotland can live on really low wages go for it. |

They were voting to leave the EU not leave the UK as I stated before the two don't have to go hand in hand. The vote result goes with the majority end of, otherwise for instance when a union votes for strike action you'd have one factory going on strike and another not....you vote together you suck it up if you happen to not get the result you wanted....it's the same with the rest of the UK if you didn't want to leave hard luck. |

Because ti belongs to the UK Government why would you get it all for free? The same with the oil industry the equipment belongs to the Oil companies they're hardly going to just give it up for free. |

Nicola Sturgeon' problem David, is that Scotland voted pretty convincingly to remain in the EU, not to leave by a small margin as the rest of the UK. That should have been taken into account by Ms May, and many European officials are sympathetic to that. |

Why would Scotland need new equipment and new bases, they have plenty of bases already and would be entitled to a share of the UK's defence equipment. |
