Good Evening Everyone :-) :-) :-) <3
Have you all recovered from the last hectic day of the Six Nations this year? In particular, have you recovered from the SHAMBLES that was the end of the France v Wales game? :-0 :-0 :-0
**** WHAT DID THE PROFESSIONALS MAKE OF IT ALL? If any of you would like to see what professional Rugby Commentators and former players had to say on this game, you can watch - SCRUM V SIX NATIONS 2017 on the link below.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08kc0m4/scrum-v-six-nations-2017-19032017
This programme was aired on Sunday Evening at 6pm on BBC Wales.
Ignore the programme content write-up. This was changed no doubt because of the circumstances of the Wales game, and Jonathan Jiffy Davies losing his voice! :-0 Which must be a first! :-D
****THE PROGRAMME In this programme, SCRUM V Hosts - Ross Harries and Sarra Elgan (wife of Ireland Coach Simon Easterby) interview former Wales Internationals - SHANE WILLIAMS, ADAM JONES and JAMES HOOK, and Rugby Journalist PETER JACKSON (The Rugby Paper) about it all.
****THE PANEL'S CONCLUSION .... IT WAS A MESS! ....But they are NOT blaming WAYNE BARNES the Ref over the last 20 minutes farce! He was in a very difficult position and had NO OPTION but to carry on Refereeing the game!
Former Wales International Tighthead Prop (3) ADAM JONES said that Barnes had been "KIND TO WALES". He explained that Wales had given away 9 penalties in quick succession, with only 1 Yellow Card. He added that had Wales been reduced to 13 players, France would have got the pushover and the game would not have dragged on so long. They concluded that Wales had many chances, and could well have conceded a Penalty Try Award much earlier.
****FRANCE PROP ISSUE: As regards to the fiasco over UINI ATONIO - Well it DID look like France was pulling a fast one!
Atonio said he had a bad back, but was OK. To Barnes's repeated qustion "Are you injured?" he insisted that he wasn't! Then a Doctor from the France Camp appears claiming a Head Injury! Once that claim was brought into the mix, then Barnes had no option but to let him be replaced.
Peter Jackson pointed out that Wayne Barnes is a Barrister. He would draw on this background when making such decisions.
AND SO A WELL RESTED EXPERT PROP COULD BE PUT BACK ON! Then off Atonio went off clutching his GROIN! :-D
****LANGUAGE BARRIER? As to the claim by some, that Atonio had misunderstood Barnes due to language difficulties .... The panel burst into laughter .... ATONIO IS A NEW ZEALANDER ... His first language is ENGLISH!
Wales was prepared to go ahead with any decision Barnes made as regards the scrum. Even to offering an UNCONTESTED SCRUM. This is where no pushing takes place, because there is no qualified person trained to take the Front Row position because of injury.
****WALES PROP ISSUE: The Uncontested Scrum was again raised in connection with the Yellow Carded SAMSON LEE
When a front rower is sent off, what happens is that a replacement front rower is brought on, and another member of the team is forfeited. Still only 14 players, but a qualified front row is in place. Otherwise a serious injury could take place. In the confusion, Barnes had thought that Tomos Francis, who had been replaced by Samson Lee earlier, had gone off injured.
Wales could have played on that and sneakily insisted on an Uncontested Scrum. But Francis had NOT been injured, and Wales did the decent thing and declared as much.So on Francis came and a full force scrum ensued.
Eventually, France overcame Wales' defence and the game was won.
**** OTHER ISSUES: A DELIBERATE KNOCK FORWARD by FRANCE 11. VIRIMI VAKATAWA prevented a very likely try by George North. He was Yellow Carded, but no Penalty Try was awarded. Personally, I think George would have scored the Try, had Vakatawa not done this, but the Ref has to go by what he has seen.
** HOWEVER ... OUR OWN JONATHAN DAVIES HAD ALSO KNOCKED ON (deliberately or otherwise) just a short time earlier, and got away with it! So poetic justice maybe!
****THE GEORGE NORTH BITE! To top off all the mayhem and confusion .... George North confronts the referees with a clear BITE MARK on his arm. France's MAESTRI then claims that North DID IT TO HIMSELF!:-0 :-0 :-0 With Head Coach GUY NOVES demonstrating how it could have been done in an interview later!!!!
Conveniently, The Cameras only had 1 ANGLE Shot of the alleged incident, and so the incident could not be proven! BUT HAD IT BEEN PROVEN ... THE GAME WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER THERE AND THEN ... with a TOTALLY DIFFERENT OUTCOME TO THE GAME!
IN A STATEMENT FROM THE SIX NATIONS .. it says that they will look into the matter according to the usual citing procedures, if a complaint is brought, it will be investigated. If a punishment is required it will be brought forth in the next 48 hours (as of yesterday)
****SCRUM V PANELIST PETER JACKSON said that without stoppages, the whole FRANCE V WALES game took 122 MINUTES & 8 SECONDS ... with the Second Half taking 75 MINUTES & 55 SECONDS!
He said " The game was so FARCICAL at one stage, that I was expecting INSPECTOR CLOUSEAU to come on with his BIG MACK and his MAGNIFYING GLASS!" :-D :-D :-D :-D
WALES AIR AMBULANCE posted the following on Social Media ..... "During the added time, one of our helicopters could have reached anywhere in Wales!"
Well, whatever should or should not have happened, whatever decisions were right or were wrong ... IT HAS GIVEN US MUCH TO TALK ABOUT! :-D :-D :-D
PERHAPS WE WILL STILL BE ARGUING ABOUT IT UNTIL NEXT YEAR'S CHAMPIONSHIP ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D

GEORGE NORTH & THE BITE ALLEGATION ..... LATEST NEWS
Despite an obvious bite mark to George North's Arm during the now infamous France v Wales game last Saturday ...
Officials of the Six Nations Rugby have been unable to find any clear VIDEO evidence to support George's claim.
However, they are still looking into France "PROP-GATE" ;-) :-D :-D :-D SEE MY EARLIER POST ON THIS PAGE JemimaFawr 20 Mar 2017 21:31
