Would that be mere as insignificant, or mere as in lake?

Another chance for AnnC to post a pithy reply?

Incidentally that is pithy as in terse and vigorously expressive and not pithy in relation to the act of urination :-P :-D :-D :-D

I know it's your thread but showing off with big words and numerous uses isn't bland....yeah yeah your thread.... :-D

Allan Report 3 Feb 2017 10:10

Caroline

Caroline Report 4 Feb 2017 10:07

A fresh cream apple turnover will do nicely for my morning break, please. :-D

There is nothing bland about food and drink methinks. :-D

Allan

Allan Report 4 Feb 2017 10:36

Hmm, a drink of milk and a ground rice pudding?

Plain porridge comes a very close second :-|

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 4 Feb 2017 10:47

tripe

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 4 Feb 2017 10:50

I like rice, sago, tapioca and semolina puddings and love porridge.

One of my grandfathers used to love tripe cooked in milk.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 4 Feb 2017 10:59

School lunches, Ann. :-D

Allan

Allan Report 4 Feb 2017 11:20

I never had school lunches once I went to high school :-D

I had packed lunches, and my favourite was on Tuesdays when I had a small pork pie and tomato sandwiches :-D

Please, AnnC, this is supposed to be a bland thread, not a technicolour yawn :-0

JoyLouise Report 4 Feb 2017 11:43

Our group of girls used to have school lunches for two terms of the year but during the summer term we used to take our own.

My favourite school lunch was Friday's. We had baked fish (never had battered anything at school), peas and mashed potatoes (our school never did chips either), followed by either ginger or chocolate pudding and white sauce. Yum yum.

We went through phases of packed lunches, at one stage Mars bar butties, which I liked, another was honey, sultana and chopped walnut butties.

All still eaten by me.

There is nothing anyone has put in front of me that I won't try. Some things I love, others I tolerate.

Caroline

Caroline Report 4 Feb 2017 22:14

Haven't had a mars bar butties for years...and the thread slipped to the next page again so thought I'd mention it....as much as Allan wants it to slip away no doubt

Allan

Allan Report 4 Feb 2017 22:33

Slip sliding away :-D

If I wanted the Thread gone altogether, I'd just delete my opening post :-D :-D

However, it still seems to provide a sort of refuge from other threads that degenerate into almost personal abuse...although the word 'abuse' may be a little harsh ;-) :-D :-D :-D

Ooh Allan, you're a Paul Simon/Garfunkel fan ..... Slip slidin' away .....

Here's a song to gee you up:

Keep right on to the end of the road,
Keep right on to the end.

Though your way be long,
Let your heart be strong .....

Do you think this is quite apt for this long and (I hope) ongoing thread?

Good on ya Allan. :-D
