I nearly always have to have the subtitles on Barb.

It seems that the formats now have the background noises and background music louder than the speaking, so keeping putting up the volume just does not work! :-|

I think they keep adjusting the sound, Barb....cos some programs the sound is very quiet and then next programme comes on and the sound comes booming out :-D
