Fly, he volunteers at a charity in one of County Durham's villages and some of the country roads are affected immediately by snow. The city roads are clear and fine.

My bessie lives in a picturesque village that is always badly hit by snow and occasionally parts of it by floods. (Remember, it's where my Arkwright has his shop.) Luckily she was here on Monday because I won't see her while it's snowing. :-D

Good grief, K's just come in from his voluntary stint very early. It usually takes him 20 minutes to get there but today it was 50. There are queues everywhere which is slowing movement considerably (one particular hill had a queue almost a mile back of vehicles waiting to climb it).

As he has a four-wheel drive he turned and took another route and arrived about ten minutes after his usual time. Chatted to someone there and then ... the power went off. So now he's back home.

Gawd, we are both sitting doing things at the kitchen table and ICE CREAM VAN CHIMES are nearby. I said the other day that there was an optimist but today I think he may be a crazy guy :-S :-S It's still snowing :-S :-S
