I used to cook a big gammon dinner for the family on Christmas Eve, but no longer. It's just me and J, a pile of large crevette prawns, crusty bread and salad :-D :-D

I am getting out tomorrow Emma but tonight we are hosting the gathering. It is my turn, you see.

I shall certainly have Roy Wood, Noddy Holder etc on because we like to dance :-D

Ham (gammon to you GP) has been parboiled and is now in the oven with marmalade, brown sugar and brandy glaze and studded with cloves. Just about to do the vegie the Nigella way which makes life easy.

Pavlova is standing waiting for cream and cherries in kirsch.

All things considered, I may be considerably heavier tomorrow unless I dance my socks off. :-D

I've tried that Foresight pease pudding - it's OK, but lacks seasoning. I stir in a bit of concentrated bacon stock, then it's fine. :-D

JL - I do love my food and I have never had figs for years and can't remember what they taste like.

I have just found out what the difference between a Gammon and Ham joint is. Gammon you have to cook and Ham is already cooked. :-S :-S :-S
