We wouldn't have to pay for either the treatment or the day service at the hospital as it was required by the specialist. It's covered by the provincial Health Scheme, which costs us about $120 a month (ca £50) in premiums ............. not even that if our income was below a certain level. |

Ann ~ we have private insurance, very expensive, but worth it. If we didn't have it we'd get stuck with the whole bill, or go on the government waiting list...... by the time you reach the top of the list, it's usually too late. We know many older people who have been waiting years for surgery (one man has been waiting over three years for a knee & hip operation). |

I hope the treatment you get reflects the amount you pay LScozz. We in UK should stop complaining about the NHS and be glad we don't get hit by bills like that. |

Sylvia IC....... yes, it's another day surgery. On Friday I was at the hospital for 4 +1/2 hours, I expect the next one will be about the same. |

Good luck with next week's procedure, Scozz, and glad you have a few days respite. |

Sylvia ~ I'm not sure how next weeks procedure will be done. The doc said it wouldn't be quite the same as Friday's. I don't really want to know details, just do it! |
