Ireland's Call
Come the day and come the hour Come the power and the glory We have come to answer Our Country's call From the four proud provinces of Ireland
Ireland, Ireland Together standing tall Shoulder to shoulder We'll answer Ireland's call
From the mighty Glens of Antrim From the rugged hills of Galway From the walls of Limerick And Dublin Bay From the four proud provinces of Ireland
Ireland, Ireland Together standing tall Shoulder to shoulder We'll answer Ireland's call
Hearts of steel And heads unbowing Vowing never to be broken We will fight, until We can fight no more From the four proud provinces of Ireland
Ireland, Ireland Together standing tall Shoulder to shoulder

A SOLDIER’S SONG
We'll sing a song, a soldier's song, With cheering rousing chorus, As round our blazing fires we throng, The starry heavens o'er us; Impatient for the coming fight, And as we wait the morning's light, Here in the silence of the night, We'll chant a soldier's song.
Chorus:
Soldiers are we whose lives are pledged to Ireland; Some have come from a land beyond the wave. Sworn to be free, No more our ancient sire land Shall shelter the despot or the slave. Tonight we man the gap of danger In Erin's cause, come woe or weal "Mid cannons" roar and rifles peal, We'll chant a soldier's song. In valley green, on towering crag, Our fathers fought before us, And conquered 'neath the same old flag That's proudly floating o'er us. We're children of a fighting race, That never yet has known disgrace, And as we march, the foe to face, We'll chant a soldier's song.
Chorus

Good Morning Jem and all on the Rugby thread.
What Happened Jem?
Firstly Congratulations to England, you outplayed Wales with fresh players, well done.
My lovely Wales, “ duw, duw it’s hard “ perhaps it was the small contingent of booing Welsh supporters which is not on OR my score prediction that threw a spanner in the works and tempted fate, who knows.
But sadly you were out played and out classed in the last 40 minutes after a good first half you took a 10 – 0 lead inside eight minutes and going into the interval 16 - 8, you will be licking your wounds and having to regroup after crashing to a depleted England.
Some interesting articles below from Rugby correspondents Simon Thomas, Delme Parfitt and Andy Howell. Sam says on the back page “ we have got to win four out of four,” I don’t think so Sam unless you have a PLAN B “

My gt grandmother was Irish. Haven't found any Scots but as the Irish part of family were protestant and Church of Ireland they may have been originally from Scotland.
OH has Swedish, English, Dutch, German and Belgium ancestors - told children they are the EU on their own. ;-)

Well done Pat! :-D :-D :-D
Not a lot of people know this ... **** whispers.. my mother was English :-0 :-0 :-D***
My OH is Irish, but supports Wales, even when they play Ireland, because as he says, he didn't follow Rugby until he moved to Wales!
We will support Ireland this afternoon though! :-) :-) :-)
I look forward to your company Pat :-)
