RICHIE GRAY - OUT OF THE SIX NATIONS
SCOTLAND LOCK, RICHIE GRAY, has been forced out of the remainder of this year’s Six Nations Championship following an arm injury, sustained halfway through the Scotland v Wales match last Sunday.
25 year old Richie, the older, taller and blonder of Scotland’s two Gray brothers, has damaged tendons in his arm. A decision, on whether or not he will need surgery, will be made at a later date.
Richie Gray has been capped 44 times for Scotland. He was also a part of the British and Irish Lions Squad that toured Australia in 2013. Richie was the only Scot to play in a TEST match.
Richie will be replaced by 28 year old TIM SWINSON who plays for GLASGOW WARRIORS.
Also injured, and so out of the rest of the Six Nations Championship, is SCOTLAND PROP GORDON REID.
Gordon came on as a replacement for AL DICKINSON. He lasted only 3 minutes before receiving a serious head knock. It has now emerged that he also has a serious knee injury, and will probably not be fit in time for the Rugby World Cup in the autumn.
Richie and Gordon’s names have now been added to the ever growing list of injured Scottish players.
Also sidelined due to injury are Adam Ashe, Sean Maitland, Duncan Weir, Grant Gilchrist, Ruarish Jackson, Chris Fusaro, Dave Denton, Jon Walsh and Tommy Seymour.
NEXT SCOTLAND MATCH:
SCOTLAND v ITALY Saturday February 28th .. Kick-Off 2.30pm

FINN RUSSELL
Scotland Fly Half, Finn Russell, has been suspended for two weeks following the dangerous tackle on his Wales Counterpart DAN BIGGAR. It was going to be a three week ban, but the suspension was reduced to two weeks due to Russell’s previously clean record.
Russell was YELLOW CARDED during the Scotland v Wales match last Sunday. He took Wales’ Fly Half Dan Biggar out in the air, when they were competing for a high ball. He appears to turn and “ark” his back which threw Dan to the ground from quite a height!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWIOPJIZpvc
SIX NATIONS DISCIPLINARY OFFICERS judged Finn Russell’s tackle as “RECKLESS RATHER THAN DELIBERATE”.
Tournament Organisers interviewed Russell and his Representative, and then viewed the incident from various TV ANGLES.
They determined that Finn Russell committed an ACT OF FOUL PLAY which merited a RED CARD rather than the Yellow Card that was given by match officials.
RUSSELL WILL BE OUT OF THE SCOTLAND v ITALY GAME ON 28th FEBRUARY AS A CONSEQUENCE.
SCOTTISH RUGBY UNION IS GOING TO APPEAL THIS DECISION.

SIX NATIONS RUGBY NEWS
FRANCE v WALES NEWS:
France Scrum-Half MORGAN PARRA has a fresh injury, which may put him out of the French team to face Wales on Saturday.
Parra took a knock to his shin while playing for Clermont against Racing Metro (Wales' Jamie Roberts' club) at the weekend.
As much as I am sorry to see anyone injured, I am not sorry that there is a possibility that Parra will not be playing against my beloved Wales! <3
RORY KOCKOTT is another of the French team that it is doubtful will be playing. He missed France's last game because of a Quadriceps injury.
WHILE THE LIAM WILLIAMS DEBATE STILL GOES ON!
Liam Williams is THE up and coming Wales star! AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED HE MUST KEEP HIS PLACE IN THE WALES TEAM.
Not in his preferred position as Full- Back though...... ........ LEIGH HALFPENNY MUST BE THERE!
Liam was still amazing on the wing!
So if it means leaving out GEORGE NORTH (who hasn't been playing so well for Wales of late!) or ALEX CUTHBERT ....SO BE IT!
Leigh and Liam worked fantastically together in the last game against Scotland.
MORE OF THE SAME PLEASE! :-) :-) :-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SCOTLAND v ITALY NEWS:
MARTIN CASTROGIOVANNI will be unable to play for Italy when they face Scotland on Saturday.
Poor Martin has had to have 14 stitches in his face following a bite from his friend's dog :-0 :-0 :-0
Sad news! But I'm sure his omission from the Italian team will help Scotland, as Castro is a mighty tough Tighthead Prop!
His place will be taken by LORENZO CITTADINI who plays for Wasps at Club level.
Also out for Italy v Scotland is Back ANDRE MASSI, who received a bad cut playing for The Wasps against Newcastle. His place is being taken by an uncapped player ENRICO BACCHIN
Doubtful to face Scotland is Italy Second Row MARCO BORTORLAMI, who's fitness is in question.
FIVE PLAYERS CALLED UP FOR SCOTLAND SQUAD!
Head coach Vern Cotter has added five capped internationalists to Scotland's Six Nations squad, ahead of Scotland's game v Italy, this Saturday at Murrayfield.
They are-
Scrum-half CHRIS CUSITER (Sale Sharks)
Prop MORAY LOW (Exeter)
Prop ALEX ALLAN (Glasgow Warriers)
Eightman ADAM ASHE (also Glasgow Warriers)
Eightman DAVID DENTON (Edinburgh)
Chris Cusiter, Adam Ashe and Dave Denton were left out of Vern Cotter's initial squad selection due to injury. All three have now sufficiently recovered to be recalled.
Moray Low and Alex Allan are direct replacements for Glasgow Warriors pair Jon Welsh and Gordon Reid, who were injured in the previous match against Wales.
The five men began training with the Scottish Squad on Monday.
LIAM WILLIAMS IN!
Liam takes the LEFT WING, while GEORGE NORTH replaces ALEX CUTHBERT on the RIGHT WING. Alex has not gained a place on the replacement bench for this match!
JUSTIN TIPURIC replaces Jake Ball. Tipuric may be just the person to give Wales a boost.
SAMSON LEE RETURNS to his Tight Head Prop position. He was concussed in the Wales v England game.
I'm pleased to see SCOTT WILLIAMS on the bench, ready to come on when necessary.
