It's fortunate that Jemima Nicholas was built like that because of what happened. I had a Welsh teacher last 2 years of my junior school, we heard all about the Welsh ladies frightening off the French invasion, he made sure we learnt Men of Harlech as well. :-)

With my Welsh name on got on well with him. :-)

:-D :-D@ Pat!

My height comes from my English side! My mother's father was 6 foot 4! :-D :-D :-D

My mother had a short friend. When they were together, she would walk in the gutter :-D
They used to get called " The long and the short of it!" apparently :-D

My father (Welsh) was tall- 6 foot, but all his sisters were short, as were his most of his ancestors.
My 5x Great Aunt Jemima Nicholas, however, was a big manly looking woman that you wouldn't want to get into an argument with :-D :-D :-D

PatinCyprus Report 21 Jan 2015 13:22

And there's me telling everyone I'm short because it's my Welsh side, OH says it's to work in the mines.

I have a photo of my grandparents 50th anniversary. My uncle is just the tallest of the children of the marriage. A spit smaller than him is my father, all the others are noticeable smaller - my father was five feet one and a half inches tall.

We could be the new Little and Large but I would rename Little and Tall :-)

Just popping in quickly to wish you all a great day :-)

Pat- fantastic picture! :-)
We would look funny together- I'm 5 foot 9!!! :-D :-D

Mild out here today although we have some snow

PricklyHolly Report 21 Jan 2015 08:13

Morning Dizzi, Pat and anyone else who pops in.

Wet and soggy down my end so no need to defrost and refill the birds swimming pool.

Good morning Dizzi :-)

Hope you had a good night. Your temperatures look better today in UK, not so cold as yesterday although some places are having rain.

It's 11 C here, the sun's shining but there's quite a lot of cloud about.

:-) <3
