Hello All
I have been digging weeds out of the front border yet again. It really is never ending but with knitting the baby shawl and twirling for the rugby teams the weeds have had a hay-day. It will soon be time to plant the Spring flowering bulbs so I am on a mission to clear dig over the soil and clear the space. I have to pace myself these days and try not to think when I could stay gardening for hours without any problems, not now!!
Jem, glad that you are here, I hope that your worries can be sorted before too long I knew that you would be gutted by the news about Leigh and Rhys having to miss the World Cup Rugby. It doesn't make sense to me to play such important men in a friendly game when the World Cup matches are so near?... but I have often said that I no nothing about rugby, but I am following our number 1 Cheer Leader and continuing the pom pom shaking and left right twirls (but not when gardening.) I haven't done any FH research for such a long time that I would need to study all the files I have put together over the previous years.
Pat, I hope that you and OH are coping with sandstorm and hope it's calmed now. I caught the news which showed the Queen and Prince Philip in Scotland..... what an amazing couple they are and an inspiration for all they achieve given their ages. Her Majesty now becomes the longest serving British Monach, I do admire her and Duke of Edinbugh too (despite opening his mouth and putting his foot in it so often), but I can't say the same for all of the Royal family though.
Take it easy everyone, and I hope you all have a restful night sleep.

Good Evening Roll Callers :-) :-) :-) <3
I'm sorry, I hadn't realised so many days had gone by with me not posting! :-0 I'm ok just very tired at the moment, and dealing with what seems to be a dozen problems :-D :-D :-D
I spent the beginning of the week catching up with jobs that did not get done while the rugby was on. We have just over another week before The World Cup kicks off with England v Fiji on Friday night 18th Sept. I am hoping the hospital will forget about me until the World Cup is finished :-D :-D
Yes, I'm very sad for Leigh and Rhys, who have worked so hard for the World Cup. A rugby playing career is relatively short. Rhys and Leigh are both 26, so there is a possibilty that they may not get another chance of playing in a World Cup :-( They will both be 30, so they may get one more chance depending on their fitness.
I can see that you have both been putting the work in with your twirling! Well done the two of you :-D <3
I have a great photo that I want to send to you both by PM when I have a chance! I can't put it on here as I haven't had permission. It's of my big brother playing rugby with a VERY FAMOUS Ex Welsh Rugby Union International, now TV Anchor, Personality, Presenter etc! Very very busy on the BBC and S4C ;-) :-D
I have printed out loads of photos of The Shah of Persia and his palace where my Grandfather was born, this afternoon. I want to get my family history in order in files and in an organised manner on the computer.
Between discovering the GR Boards, and of course The Rugby, I have been neglecting Family History and wasting my Platinum Subs. They have just sent me the reminder that it's time to renew. So I'm hoping that when the World Cup is finished I can use what's left of my new Platinum subs to tidy everything up, and then just have a standard Subs from then on, to chat with my friends :-)
Well, the weather hasn't been bad here for the past few days. In fact Sunday was warm and pleasant. OH and I went down to a shop that I like in the little town my Mum grew up in. I needed to take a dressing gown back. I'd picked up one 2 sizes too big by mistake:-D Afterwards we went for a small walk by the river that runs round the very historic castle there.
:-)KANDJ I'm sorry that your 2nd batch of Welsh Poppies have not grown. I'm not much of a gardener I'm afraid, so despite being Welsh ;-) I'm afraid I have no idea why! :-D
My 4 £1 Fuschias have all bloomed beautifully, but the best one the boy next door broke playing football on our lawn! :-|
Grandson's College Course is classed as a Full Time course, but he's only actually at college all day on Mondays and Thursdays and on a Friday morning. He must have to do some of the work at home too. He found the first 2 days boring as they didn't do anything, and they had some teething problems and staff not turned up. The last 2 days he really enjoyed. They did Human Biology and some psychology etc.
:-)PAT The sandstorm must be awful! :-0 I hope that it hasn't affected your or OH's chests! It's been all over the news here. It must look really eerie! Sometimes we get a film of sand on the cars which they say has blown over from the Sahara! I'm not sure about that though!
Mozart sounds quite a character. How awful that his first owners just went and abandoned him :-| Your neighbours sound very caring people to have taken in all those poor animals :-) It's good that you get a little share too. Cats just adopt you, it's quite a compliment :-)
CAROL <3 You must be missing Dizzi dreadfully!
<3 PRICKLES I know you are missing Dizzi too! I have missed you and your singing! I hope you are ok :-)

Hello All
A dry day and forecast to be dry for next couple of days so perhaps Summer hasn't deserted us entirely. I cleaned out the airing cupboard in the bathroom this morning and emulsioned the inside and then sorted out the towels..... we have far too many, as there is usually only the two of us apart from when family visit and so I have halved the towels and they are waiting to go to the village charity shop tomorrow.
This afternoon I have been transferring some mature plants from the side of the drive and they are now planted in the front garden border..... hopefully, they will do a lot better that the Campanala that some unknown creature took a liking to earlier.
Carol, nice to see you posting again. Lovely words you have posted for Dizzi.
Pat, I wouldn't like the sand in my Chinese meal either. How long will this last? Do you have a sign "Cat's Home" to attract all the local waifs and stray cats? Left right twirl, left right twirl, I am keeping practicing Pat or my old bones might just seize up and that would never do when we are wanting to encourage the teams.
Jem, I hope all is well with you and yours? Perhaps you have been called into hospital for your operation? If so, I hope all goes well for you then. I see on TV that Leigh Halfpenny is out of the rugby world cup matches and that Rhys Webb is also doubtful..... poor Jem, I know you will be sooo upset about this.
Goodnight now to everyone and wishing Sweet Dreams to you all.

Afternoon all, well the clock says it's afternoon. :-)
We are in lock down. Fought my way out to pick up friend to go to the docs for our repeat prescriptions. There's a dispensary there as well so all got in 1 go. Fought way back via friend's house.
Why are we in lock down - we are in the middle of a dust storm, it's 36 C a strange glow in the sky, think that's the sun, it's a funny brown colour. Can't see the castle down the road.
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/14459303 - view from the bedroom window on a clear day.
We have a thick fog only it's sand and not good to breathe in. Outside furniture covered in fine sand. It's a gift from Syria - well they can keep it. The breeze is getting up but the humidity is very high. Hopefully the breeze will blow it away.
Nothing landed at Larnaca Airport earlier today all diverted to Paphos as Larnaca now open it must be clearing down there, may have to take planes from Paphos later as it may move across to there before leaving the island.
Poor holiday makers they've lost at least a day.
Kandj, the cats. Well Mozart is a big, black neutered, male cat. When his first owners moved they left him behind. He had a collar with a disc, 1 side said Mozart other side was a phone number. Next door started to look after him after they phoned the number to find previous owners didn't want him. He's a great character. He talks to you, and as next door are out during the day, pops in here for a chat, company or if it's wet/windy.
The kitten - the lady next door is a Tui rep and a cat at 1 of their hotels had kittens which was reported to a charity. Charity captured the mother and kittens. Mother to be neutered and released back near the hotel as she's a feral cat. The kittens to be rehomed. Trouble was 1 of the kittens was left behind so next door took him. That's why they have Mozart, a small adult neutered female, a deaf white cat and the kitten. They also feeding a youngish male cat who was starving a couple of months ago. He's feral but he's becoming friendly. They also have 2 dogs who were dumped as pups.
When they go away the deaf cat (an inside cat) is fed by a relative who also checks the house. The dogs go to friends who have a small holding and I get to feed the other cats. Mozart eats here, the other 2 in the front garden. The kitten was supposed to be trapped in the back garden so the relative could feed it and separate it from the bigger cats. Trouble is the kitten can easily get over adjoining wall so we ended up looking after it.
It's fast asleep next to me at the moment. It's been next door all morning but it came in just after I started this, curled up and went fast asleep. The other cats all hiss at it when they see it. Yet another 1 to share food with!
Wind doesn't seem to be moving the dust. :-0 We are going out this evening. Can see us eating indoors. Don't like sand with my Chinese meal. :-D
Poor Leigh Jem, hope he recovers quickly as he could be out much of the 2015/16 season. :-(
Left right, twirl, left right, twirl. Just a quick practise, must show willing. Hope you're practising Kandj as we have a standard to keep up now. ;-)
Wonder if we'll have enough hot water for showers, oh well cold showers won't be too bad as it's too hot for there to be really cold water. :-D
Will let you know what happens about our weather problem. :-|
It's a weird fuzzy world out there today.
Hope you all have a good day and evening. :-) <3

Hello All Definitely getting Autumnal now. I have worn a cardigan and turned the heating on! Heavy rain showers too for last few days which makes it feel damp and chilly.
Not been out and about but it sounds like Pat is having a great time with plenty of get-together and celebrations, and bopping down the club...... sound tiring, but fun!
Pat, family and friends won't have any problems remembering your daughter's birthday. Does everyone get dressed in Halloween costumes now? It will be lovely for you and OH to have your son and daughter with you soon. Bet you can't wait.
I have the Campunala plants re-potted and they look a sorry sight with just stalks and no leaves at present, but I'm hopeful that they will grow well as the roots are good and healthy. I'm having no luck with the 2nd seeds I set for the yellow and orange Welsh poppies....... I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. It can't be that difficult to grow a few poppies but I have 3 tiny leaves out of 50 seeds??!!!
I haven't seen any slugs but there does seem to be more snails than usual.... I wonder do snails eat leaves of new plants? Pat, slugs on your bin sound YUKKY.
Is Mozart the cat belonging to next door? Where has the kitten come from.... is it a stray that has "adopted" you? Cats go where they feel comfortable, so I'm told.
Will I still be able to borrow the pom poms and follow your lead at cheerleading tomorrow please? As I have been late previously I will do my best to be on time tomorrow. Will you save me a place please? Left right twirl, left right twirl tra la la la.
Jem, Did you think that Grandson 1 course was full time? He just might surprise you and get down to serious studying when he gets into the course. Fingers crossed
I'm not sure which magazine Thomas the Tank Engine came from. I knitted it for my niece's little boy and he was about 5 I think. He is 28 yrs old now!! It may have been the Woman's Weekly as they had lots of free knitting patterns each week. My friend used to take this particular magazine and I bought Woman's Own and we swapped magazines every week...... do people still do that I wonder?
The baby shawl is looking good but with it being 3ply baby wool it doesn't grow much, baby isn't due until February so there is plenty of time yet. I sat few hours knitting yesterday and felt quite lazy but I must admit to relaxing and enjoying it all.
Hubby says that Rugby Union games begin soon. I can't keep up and don't know the difference between Union/League games?? I'll still be joining you on Radio Jem
Bedtime now.....so I'll close wishing Sweet Dreams to all looking in on Dizzi's thread.

Good Afternoon Everyone :-) :-) <3
After a sunny but chilly start to the day, black clouds have now arrived, so I must keep an eye on my washing! :-|
Commiserations to the Cyprus Football team. Wales are doing very well at Footy at the moment. Of course, they do have Gareth Bale! Success breeds success they say, so now, maybe footballers with mixed parentage will choose to play for Wales rather than England for a change :-D :-D
Grandson 1 is home today! He tells me that his Full Time Health and Social Care Course is only 2 and a half days a week! :-0 :-0 :-0 I suppose he will be expected to do some work at home, but I won't hold my breath! :-D
Pat, what an exciting life you lead! :-D Congratulations on your 10 years in Cyprus :-)
Your Family History Mystery (that sounds like it could be a song! :-D) sounds very intriguing. Like you, I do like all the puzzling enigmas! It's great when you finally unravel a mystery! You never know, you could do it! :-)
KANDJ I hope your Campanula plants are pest free (whatever pest it was) now you have replanted them!
Your shawl with its shell pattern sounds very pretty :-) Your Thomas The Tank Engine jumper pattern wasn't from Woman's Weekly was it? I seem to remember one from there! My Paddington Bears one was from Woman's Weekly. I knitted them in about 2002, but the pattern was probably from the late 1970s or 1980s!
Hope you are both having a good day :-)

Morning all :-)
Kitten has found a new game. He runs across the room and stops, well tries to, as downstairs is all tiled he sails straight past where he wants to be. He's just about avoiding the furniture. Just ended up under 1 of the settees. OH is worried that the kitten may end up here like Mozart but I did point out that as we don't have any bills from Mozart, it should be ok.
We were out Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights, at a wedding tonight. Next week looks like out Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
Monday was 10 years living in Cyprus, this Wednesday is 10 years living in this house and a friends 70th. Kandj the Jewish New Year is 14th.
It was 35 C here yesterday and it'll still be in the high 20s by the end of the month. No sign of rain yet that's usually the end of September early October. As it's an event out here I'll let you know :-D. Night time temps are about 24/26 C
Just got my gt gt grandmother's birth cert of 1842, this gave me gt gt gt grandmother's maiden name and I found her Christening along with her siblings' Christenings, batch done every few years, and my gt gt gt gt grandparents wedding. 1 piece of information and I'm back another generation. :-)
The skeleton of the bigamist has thrown up some facts by tracing 1st husband. He was a coal miner who stated his father was a doctor, I though this odd so I've put his family temporarily on my tree to try to sort it out. Turns out to be a bit of a tragedy. Father was a surgeon from working stock in Middlesex, goes to Scotland marries and first 2 children born there, then goes to 3 places in Yorkshire ending up in Doncaster, quite close to where son is a miner. 2 girls and 4 boys born and all together with parents in 1871 census. Youngest child dies aged 1 later in 1871, mother dies 1872, father 1873 leaving very little money. My guess is TB and the surgeon had to stop working well before his death. Family splits, my fellow is 9 when father dies. Sisters taken to Scotland and looked after by mother's brother and his wife. Boys seem to be fending for themselves. Can't find him after the first census (1891) he is married to my relative at this point. I'm wondering who may have been the bigamist here, did he marry on his travels prior to my relative??????? No deaths for his name /age group until past 1911 census and he's not on either 1900s censuses unless he's lied about birth date/place. Did he up sticks and go or did she and he went off licking his wounds? Am tracking his siblings to see if he turns up in their lives. Glad it's a 1st cousin twice removed and I'm just doing this out of interest as I don't think I'll get to the bottom of this.
For slugs a saucer of beer works :-D
Remember 1 wet autumn going out the back door to get the bin to take it to the top of our drive for collection early next morning. The kitchen lit the bin area and our security light came on as I pushed the bin to the front of the house. It had been raining all day and pushing the bin up the drive (it was on a slight incline) I noticed that there was some resistance to the bin. I thought it was grit etc. brought down the drive by the rain. I couldn't see over the bin being small so just judged where it should be and pushed to. Got it to the top of the drive and left the bin, turned to go back down and the whole area was alive with slugs and snails. Well not all were alive as I'd mown down quite a few :-0 No wonder we had thrushes and blackbirds all around the gardens. :-)
Well the flights are booked, son and daughter fly in the night of daughter's birthday. She's a witch so she should be able to fly here on her broomstick. :-D Family joke about strapping her down on the night of her birthday so she doesn't fly away - she was born on Halloween - 31st October. She spent 2 years in the junior school with the same teacher who was born on Halloween, there was also a girl in her class born on Halloween so the teacher referred to it as the coven :-D
Saw 2 great programmes WDYTYA on Derek Jacobi and The Ascent of Woman. The latter being a 4 part series on BBC 2 Wednesdays 9pm, it's on the i player if you want to catch up.
Got to go as I've got to do some housework. We are not going to the actual wedding today as it would be such a long day. They get married in just under 3 hours (2pm) time about 1 hour's travelling from here. They will get back to their place about 3.00 pm. Reception starts at 7.30 pm as it's too hot to do much eating during the day. OH couldn't sit around on uncomfortable chairs for that long. They understand because when told about the wedding we were told they would like us at the wedding and reception but understood it would very likely be either the ceremony or the reception because of his back. We opted for the reception because the 4 of us have had so much fun bopping and if OH isn't up to it I can bop with them :-D. By the way the newer photo of me was after 1 of our bopping nights. :-)
Hope you all have a great day. :-) <3

Hello All
Another dark wet day today. The gardens are benefiting from all this rain, but its not nice at all really. The nights are really drawing in too now.
The Campanula plants are re-potted up, so whatever has had a feast and taken off all the healthy leaves will be disappointed if they come again for the stalks.
Not done much at all today to be honest, just been sitting knitting the baby shawl so not much effort needed there then and it is beginning to grow and looks so pretty.
Pat, are you still basking in warm sunshine...... if so, then you are very lucky as it feels damp and chilly now so I guess Summer has been and gone for us here. Are you still working on your family tree?..... found any skeletons hidden away? When is your son coming to Cyprus to visit. I bet you and hubby are very pleased
Jem, Grandchildren can prove to be expensive but it's good to give the youngsters a helping hand when we can. I'm sure Grandson 1 is grateful and will work hard. Perhaps his tutors may know of previous students who would have last years books to sell off cheaply. It may be worthwhile for your Grandson 1 to ask around.
I hadn't thought about caterpillars eating our plants Jem. It was suggested that slugs may be another possibility but I haven't seen any caterpillars or slugs either but I will keep my eyes open in future. All established plants haven't been touched.
Enjoy the rest of today folks.

Good Morning Roll Callers :-) :-) <3
It's definitely a Whether Weather day, here! And you can tell Autumn is upon us as there is quite a chill in the air, especially first thing. It's almost dark at 8.30pm now too! What happened to Summer? :-S :-S
Grandson 1 started College yesterday. It wasn't a proper day. A lot of introductory stuff to do first.
So far it has cost me £90! :-0 :-0 £45 for administration costs and £45 for a POLICE CHECK! :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 As his course involves working with children and vulnerable people I suppose! Next it's expensive text books :-(
He'd better knuckle down and work, or I will not be amused!
:-)KANDJ I'm sorry that the Bank Holiday Weekend was spoilt for the villagers Kandj :-( I remember taking Grandson 1 to a carnival in my childhood village when he was about 7 or 8. He was dressed as Batman. It poured. The field was full of mud!
The wonderful Welsh Rugby International, Ray Gravell, was there judging the Floats and the costumes. He lived in the village for a while, and went to secondary school with a few, including my brother.
He was in a wheelchair after having his leg amputated (complications of diabetes). Yet he was laughing and joking with everyone, although he didn't look well at all! He died not long afterwards while on holiday abroad. :-(
It's a little bit early yet for a response from the Wales Team ;-) :-D The online newspaper is going to amass all the messages together and send them off to the boys before the start of the World Cup proper.
Could it be caterpillars that are eating your plants?
:-) PAT Have you managed to get your computer on yet? :-D :-D :-D Kittens are such fun! :-) <3
Hope you and OH are good :-)

Hello All
A bright dry sunny start to today. Now why couldn't that have been the same yesterday for all the Bank Holiday events instead of non stop rain all day long. I heard that the village Gala was poorly attended which was hardly surprising given the awful wet rainy day yesterday. Such a shame when it takes so much organizing.
I need to re-pot some newly planted Campunalas that have been eaten by "something" in the front border. No idea what, as we have no rabbits and no squirrels nearby but all the healthy leaves have been eaten and only bare stalks are left now. My aim is to add low growing plants to lessen the weeding I have to do.
I hope Pat and Jem are all well today and send out good wishes to all who look in at Dizzi's Roll Call now. It was interesting to read that a decent amount of money was handed to PD Society in lovely Dizzi's memory.... that would have really pleased her.

Hello All
It's been raining non stop here all day today and the forecast is the same for the next couple of days. It is a shame that Bank Holiday events have been spoiled this way Our village Gala had organized several outside activities and things for children's amusement but I doubt that many families would be around with so much rain here.
Yes the TV is all sorted.... quickly and easily too by the man who installed it. Hubby is a happy chappy once again and the remote control is keeping him amused.
Jem, all ready for the Saturday rugby game and others as we have BT Sports. What a lot of games all on one day...... I hope the TV doesn't blow up!! I wonder if you will get a reply to your message of good wishes to the Welsh team Your grand children's knitted jumpers reminded me of one I knitted with Thomas the Tank Engine.... a bit complicated at the time if I can remember correctly. The baby shawl is a shell pattern and easy enough but knitted in 3ply wool so it isnt growing very much at the present. Still plenty of time yet, baby not due until Feb. Jem I hope you have got rid of your worries and can relax a little more now.
Pat, I hope you have the pom poms in a safe place until Saturday. It was a fun time the last game, and I am still practicing left right twirl, and getting fitter by the day ha ha. I hope I haven't lost too many strands from the pom pom shakings though. Was it today that you were joining your friend for a meal to celebrate Jewish New Year? or was it a celebration meal for the 10 years you have been in Cyprus? How is your friends dog.... the lady does well to walk with them twice a day.
Goodnight to all looking in. Sleep well.

Good Evening Roll Callers :-) :-) <3
It's not been a bad day today, weather wise. A bit undecided with clouds and then sunshine etc.
OH and I went for a walk along a section of the Coastal Path this afternoon. It was very pleasant. We used to do a lot of walking as a family a few years ago, but we haven't done any for ages now, especially since Grandson 1 got himself his own social life :-( :-( :-D
I thoroughly enjoyed the rugby on Saturday. It is so much fun since you both have joined in! Along with Fly and sometimes The Smiley Gang, it's good to have some fun and banter with the thread! Your Cheerleading routine is something to be amazed at! ;-) :-D :-D <3
You will both be pleased to know that RADIO JEM is being brought to the attention of the Wales Team :-D :-D :-D :-D
I sent them a message via WalesOnline (an online Wales Newspaper) saying "Jem and Rugby Fans on Radio Jem (Genes Reunited's Welsh Rugby & World Cup Thread) wish you every success ... Go Wales .... Go The Halfpenny... We love you all! Jemima" :-0 :-0 :-0
WalesOnline have my email addy. I wonder if I shall hear from them?! :-D :-D :-D
The family had a great time on their holiday. They spent 2 days in Longleat, and daughter said that they could have spent a 3rd day there as there was still things they hadn't done there.
Grandson 2 said his fist words there (apart from family names) choo choo train! :-D He loved the train they went on there.:-D
:-)KANDJ I'm glad the weather has been more bearable for you and OH, and I'm glad you are getting over the fire alarm incident.
It's good that the TV has been fixed, especially as your OH is housebound, it's his connection to the outside world! You will be busy with your knitting now you have found your lost shawl pattern! I haven't knitted in years, although I did think I'd start again a while ago. That was just before I discovered the GR Boards :-D :-D :-D
The last thing I knitted was a jumper each for Grandson 1 and Granddaughter 1 when they were toddlers. I was very pleased with them. They were Paddington Bear ones. His was blue and hers was lilac.

:-)PAT I hope you are all rested after your dedicated service last Saturday. You excelled, not only as Head Cheerleader, but also as General Sports Correspondent!
HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO GET FROM THE CRICKET TO THE VARIOUS FOOTBALL SPORTING VENUES? :-0 :-0 :-0 :-D :-D :-D ;-)
I hope you have had some great evenings out and that OH's back is bearable. :-)
I hope you both will be building up your strength for Saturday coming! :-0 As we have England v Ireland at 2.30pm, Wales v Italy at 5pm and France v Scotland at 8pm, but that will be on BT Sports only I expect- will have to check.
I will need a drink at the end of it all! :-0 :-D :-D

Hello All on Roll Call
Not a lot happening here today but not grumbling. We have had a relaxing day. Lots of little jobs that I could have got on with but not had a lot of energy to be honest.
Pat, thanks for the loan of the pom poms. I hope I haven't lost too much glitter with all the shakes though. I was happy to have taken your advice to practice this week as I managed this weeks game without feeling exhausted like last time.
Jem, thanks for your ongoing commentary on rugby today. A lot of other games going on too, I nearly got all mixed up, it doesn't take much to confuse me ha ha.

Hello All
The man came as arranged and thankfully our TV set is sorted and working perfectly once again. Something to do with the signal being weak now but a few buttons pressed quickly and all was done really quickly and not too expensive either, a bonus.
I planted some new ground cover plants on Monday and have been watering them to get established. My aim is to have more ground cover plants and lessen the weeding BUT, yesterday I was shocked to see all plants leaves have been eaten and only stalks remaining..... as we have no squirrels and no rabbits around I am wondering who has been feasting on the new plants??
Pat, I hope all is good in Cyprus and that your husband's back pain is easing. Are you out and about again or saving yourself for Monday's meal out? Will you remember to get the 2nd set of pom poms out for me to borrow tomorrow please. I might be a little late but would you save me a seat near you please?
Jem, I hope you are feeling better after the scan and that the results will be OK. Are the family home safely now after their few days away. Hope they enjoyed it all. Lots of sports activities happening tomorrow but I promise to be with Radio Jem and Pat Number 1 cheerleader as soon as I can..... in the meantime I am practicing my vocals and the shakes and twirls.... .... left right left right twirl. left right left right twirl ....anyone who is reading this, just feel free to join in if you wish. All are welcomed the more the merrier.

Hello All on Roll Call
A dry and pleasant day today, a little cooler but that suits us both. We are beginning to relax after the scary episode with the Smoke Alarm last Sunday morning. It hasn't happened again thank goodness.
The TV is playing up and as hubby is housebound he loves this form of entertainment. We have a man coming out tomorrow morning to check it out and as its less than three years old we are hoping the problem is nothing too serious or expensive either.
Jem, thanks for clearing the leaked information up. Will you sell your story to a Sunday tabloid for a 4 figure sum??
I have found the knitting pattern for C's new baby shawl. It was gathering dust after four years and I have the fine 3 ply baby wool to begin knitting the baby shawl. This will be in white. I also hope to knit baby matinee coats and jackets but C and hubby will find out at the second scan if this baby is girl or boy..... so I could be knitting in pink or blue later on after the shawl has been completed.
I hope that your scan result will be normal Jem and nothing to cause you more concern. Did your family all enjoy their time away and did you manage to rest then?
Pat, thankyou for the 3 photo's. All very interesting. I won't be adding any photos as I don't have any and am a bit useless with adding to my folders or Avatar don't know how to do it.
I will be practicing being 2nd cheer leader for Saturday's rugby game and will try not to be late for this next match. I will remind you tomorrow to pass the pom poms across to me. Hope you have got them handy and not "lost them" in a safe place?!
Have a restful night sleep all who are reading this.

Good Afternoon Roll Callers:-) :-) <3 It was a whether weather day here this morning, so I didn't do the washing.... and then it cleared up! :-| :-| :-D
Thankyou both for your concern re my Ultrasound scan. I had it yesterday afternoon. I think it was ok. They said there were no Gall Stones. I suppose if there is anything else, they will send a report to the doctor.
The family are back home, having had a great time. The cats are ok having been left on their own for the first time. There's two of them and they enjoy playing together- they are still kittens really.
Do not worry about "THE LEAK" ;-) ;-) :-D It was neither of you that blew the secret about my nomination for Sports Reporter of the Year!
It was actually an Undercover Free-Lance Reporter who unearthed the information, and then sold it on to a seedy tabloid newspaper. There, it was elaborated upon, together with some scandalous secrets from my past! :-0 :-0 :-0;-) ;-)
So now I doubt very much that I will win the competition, but thanks for the nomination anyway ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D
But you may still get the award for the best cheerleaders, as you are cheerleaders of the highest calibre! Your dance moves put not only Legs & Co to shame, but also Pans People! :-0 :-0 :-D :-D :-D
Kandj- you listen to Pat and you will not go far wrong in your cheerleading routine! It's just as well that Pat is the Head Cheerleader, as you would learn nothing from me, as I have 2 left feet AND a gammy hip! ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D
The England World Cup Squad was announced this afternoon and was reported on, on Radio Jem ;-) as was the Wales Team to face Ireland. That was announced this morning.
:-)PAT, Thanks for sharing your family photos with us. It's nice for us to be able to visualise who we am talking to! :-) I will find some of my lot to share with you both when I get a chance :-)
I'm sorry about your friends old dog! Hopefully it is a benign lump and the dog will have a few more happy years. :-)
:-)KANDJ, Have you found the knitting pattern for the shawl yet? It was a nice compliment to you, that your niece wants you to knit another shawl the same, for her new baby :-)
I hope you and OH have been able to get some sleep :-)
~~~~~~~~ to all looking in on Dizzi's Roll Call :-) :-) :-)
Love Jem <3
Afternoon all :-)
Well Kandj if it wasn't you or me how did Jem find out? Mystery deepens!!!!!!!!!!!
Kandj, son is so like my father, even his shape. He has a big chest and short legs, must be the Welsh miners ancestors. I don't know what shape he is know as we haven't seen him for a year. His weight is like what mine used to be - all over the place. Daughter on the other hand is built like her father. I've known him 45 years and he's put an inch on his waist in all that time. :-S If you came across a very skinny chef would you eat his food? ;-)
Hope Jem has had good news at the hospital. Having a scan isn't intrusive so shouldn't be too bad. Hope you'll let us know Jem when your back.
The pompoms are waiting for you Kandj, you shake your pompoms as you do the left right, left right bit then you twirl. Ok :-D.
Have spent most of the afternoon on my tree, time just disappears.
That's an orange grove and it's evergreen trees in the photo. There are a few pomegranate trees there also. There may be a fig tree (it's on the boundary) there as well. The orange trees dress themselves up for Christmas. Orange baubles everywhere. :-D
You can also see our castle (it's really a keep). It's to do with the crusades and Knights of St John. Some people try to say Richard Lionheart was there. There is a problem with that, it was built after he'd died. :-S
That's the Mediterranean Sea in the background.
Hope you all have a peaceful evening and night. Hope you're ok Jem.
:-) <3
Hello All Roll Call
Rain and cool again today. Might have to turn the central heating on..... we shall see.
Our niece has asked me to knit a baby shawl for her the same as the one that I knitted for her sister four years ago. That's fine by me. Baby not due until February so plenty of time to knit the fine 3ply wool shawl which took months when I did the first one. BUT first I have to put on my thinking cap and remember where I have put the knitting pattern four years ago??? Obviously hidden away in some safe place..... but where??
Pat, I didn't tell Jem about the Sports Award honest. I would never tell a secret. I thought that you must have told Jem but if not, then we must have others looking in! I'm sure that being classed as Cheer Leaders Extraordinaire is an honour because Jem seems a very nice lady but I will certainly have to keep on practicing to be worthy of such a grand honour (no pressure there then Jem!). Pat can you please remind me what comes first, the twirls or the pom pom shakes??? Senior moment already ha ha. Am I alright to borrow your pom poms again on Saturday please?
Your son looks like our son in law...... a typical Chef and what we in Yorkshire would call a Strapping Lad. Sorry I'm unable to open the next photo of you all after the low carb foods, so he might look very different in this picture. You have a wonderful view from the balcony. It must be good to see the changes.
Jem..... who told you about the surprise Sports Award? Please tell Pat that I didn't betray her confidence. I'm not sure if I should be practicing my vocal chord or my twistings for the Saturday Welsh rugby game..... decisions, decisions!!
Sorry that you are having ongoing worries Jem. I hope things will calm down before very long. Good luck at the hospital today. Fingers crossed that it will turn out good. We wouldn't dream of shooting you, you're needed for Radio Jem!
Enjoy today everyone, whatever you have in mind.
